Cov ops frigate, Sisters expanded launcher, 8x Sisters combat probes, 2x Gravity Capacitor Upgrade rigs, Full LG Virtue clone
With current skills, I can get a Sister's combat probe "SENSORSTRENGTH" in EFT to 82.29. With max skills, that jumps to 88.173. Drop the LG Virtue set, leave the max skills, and it drops to 61.
Assuming the target has maxed the ship out with ECCM etc. to be "as unscannable as possible", will it still be impossible to probe it to 100% with 82.29? The advice is always "get max skills + Virtues" but does that extra ~7% really mean the difference between success and failure? It seems like the Virtue set is much more important than all 5s.
Is there a "SENSORSTRENGTH" value that equals the highest value necessary to probe out any ship in the game, assuming 8 probes are used? |

I can't answer your question, just want to tell you don't forget to use the AR-810 implant. (AQ-710 and AP-610 are also nice to have.) ___ Just found this thread: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=102446 "You need 8 probes and a probe scan strength of 78.4 or more. "
"78.4 strength is the 10% prospector implants + the lowest 3 virtues. I'm not so sure this is accurate since even with a full set, I need to get the probes pretty much right on top of the target and i have a probe strength of 97."
__
I only have 8 probes + scan strength skills at IV + 5% imps (no virtue) and i only could get a booster to 70% :( German blog about smallscale lowsec pvp: http://friendsofharassment.wordpress.com |

Thank you, that is exactly what I was looking for. |

In short, with perfect probing skills, full LG Virtues and +10 hardwires, yes you will be able to probe down ANY t3 booster, no matter the fit and/or implants of the pilot flying it.
The problem with probing it lies in fact that you'll have to scan dead on top of it with 8 probes set at 0.5AU and to get there you'll usually have to have probes out long enough for your potential target to spot em. There are ways to reduce the likelihood of getting spotted, but they too take time.
Basically, it's very hard to do it fast. |

Remember the time when you looked for the safe spots the hard way?
In time before probes?
Those were the times, i remember getting loads of empty ships after Fountain wars ... |
