Hi,
I am having a hard time getting into properly compositioned fleets that can actually make a difference in the ongoing war.
I am currently in a small and growing corp, but we are not big enough to consistently get proper fleets together. What I am hoping is that I can "freelance" in properly FC'ed fleets, but I am having a hard time getting into them. The random roaming fleets I have participated in every night for the last week have been ... let's just say "sub optimal". And it seems to me that proper fleets are corp-exclusive or advertised in channels unavailable to me.
I am not content with solo plexing / de-plexing anymore. I want to make a proper, positive impact on Gallente sovereignty.
The Gallente milita channel is full of spies, so nothing of tactical value is shared there. Hence I am reaching out the community in the hope that someone will send me a private message or post their experiences in this thread.
The advice I have gotten so far:
- Send an in-game mail to one of the leaders of the Gallente milita. (Who are these?)
- Leave corp and try to enter a more active one. (I (think I ) would rather stay for a while, my corp has potential.)
- Hang around the Nennamaila area and make my presence known. Eventually someone will notice me.
Any thoughts? Private messages welcome.
EDIT: My character only has ~2.5 M skill points. I mainly fly frigates or logi cruiser. |

Find out who the FC, CEO and Dir's are of these corps running the exclusive fleets and keep spamming them with convo's and evemail and they will see how committed you are they will take you in, also if you follow them about in a frig and start making hero tackles you will get a invite, esp if put an " X " in local after each jump, don't X before the jump btw or it may get lost in a session change.
Once in make sure you let them know you can fly a Logi cruiser as well as t1 tackle as these are very much desired esp since rebalance, often better than the t2's in fact.
Good luck in you're search for elite pvp.

I think I have an idea on how to find out who the fleet FCs are and what corp they are in. I will roam around near Nennamaila until I find a fleet and convo a pilot who looks like they belong to the fleet.

Wasn't there a post similar to this, just from the other side of the aim (caldaris), can it be that all militias are hopelessly disorganised ?
On a more serious note - where do you guys live? My first advice to any aspiring galente (and for what it's worth caldari/ammar/mini) corp would be to move to lowsec, close to frontlines and to get to know active local corps. Once you've flown in derp fleets long enought, you'll get into more organised stuff.
Also, piling up in Nennamaila isn't really the way to go |

Garan Nardieu wrote:Also, piling up in Nennamaila isn't really the way to go So your suggestion for me is to do what I am already doing (flying random fleets until I get into better fleets). I wish there was a better way, I feel like I am wasting my time. |

Well, you seem to have overseen one of the more imporatnt points I made, so let me repeat:
Quote:My first advice to any aspiring galente (and for what it's worth caldari/ammar/mini) corp would be to move to lowsec, close to frontlines and to get to know active local corps.
For starters - why don't you guys move to a lowsec fw system, preferably AROUND (not in) one of the core galmil milita system (which would be Nenna, Vlillrier or Nisuwa atm). I live in Vlill and I'm sure that you guys would be getting into much more action supported by other milita entities if you were to move to renarelle, aldrannete, eha or oicx for example. You'd be 2-3 jumps from a lot of fights (or plexing grounds if that is your thing), close to lowsec gal market hubs and also close to most active gallente corporations and alliances. After that it would probably just be a thing of you getting noticed by locals and taken into fleets.
Most of the milita fleets are failry kitchen sink most of the times though, although there are more deliberate ones every now and then.
Again, living in gal hisec and being in fw is not the best combo. |

I thought roaming lowsec would be enough. I guess you infer that docking up in lowsec gives proper incentive to properly defend "your" system. Also, I would be closer to the action.

Thank you, I think I will relocate to one of those systems for a while and try to get in on the action.

In my experience you have to bare in mind that this mythical 'well organised fleet' is not something you can just request to be part of. Network, make friends in places that matter.
As an example. In my amarr neck of the woods the kitchen sink fleets are.... ok. We also have corp fleets, alliance fleets, corp friend fleets made of close friend corps/alliances and also private intel channels for various cliques. I am a member of no less than 19 intel/fw channels. Some have a high membership, some for newb corps trying to get a leg up with up to maybe 5 logged in at a time. Some are super serious PWN FACE intel channels and some are all rounded but linked to 'schools of thought'. Some are nothing to do with FW and everything to do with my other love of piracy.
I am lucky in that I'll pretty much fly with anyone, hell.. my personal channel is full of all sorts.
What I'm trying to say is get out there, makes new friends... you'll get burned now and then by people that trick you but the loss of a t1 ship because you got awoxed is worth the intel knowing that your new mate was in fact a devious spai.
Soon you'll realise that without trying, your intel network can cover quite large areas. It takes time though. In the process of growing your corp you should be able to do this though, create your own fleets, invite publics to fly with you. Now and then curious corp members of bigger corps will join you and suddenly you make new friends as they notice you are trying to get the job done fail or not.
Hope that helps :) |

Actually it is - with the station mechanics, you get punished for branching out if you can't maintain around the clock plexing dominance.
Though Vlillier is probably good, there's lot of stations in there for cheap rent. |

Exaaaaaactly...
Let's take the best mechanic in Eve for populating lo-sec and kick it square in the nuts to "force" the smaller, growing corps to have to blob up into "super systems" vice spreading out onto their "own" so that they don't have to worry about getting locked out of their station since they can't be on-line 24/7 humping buttons...
Don't mind me eve forum world, I'm just that bitter vet who will always hate this current sov mechanic...so don't even waste your time trying to convince me otherwise... |

Hello,
My 2 cents,
Move to Nennamalia for a little bit, youll soon get to know who populates there, when you are recognised it will be very easy to get in fleets.
Make friends as well and get contacts.

Mechanic #1 - Station lockouts encourage players to ball up. Mechanic #2 - Tier payouts encourage players to spread out and cover as much territory as possible.
I wonder if there was some way you could try to somehow balance out the effects of each mechanic so that players are relatively secure while also maximizing the number of systems they control? |

My .02 on how...
Option 1 - Limit current lockout mechanic to FW stations only (STAPRO, FDU, etc...)
Option 2 - Remove lockout from all - BUT block access to all station services/agents with the lone exception the Repair Shop. But here's the catch....increase the price greatly (let the math weenies figure it out) as well as have it increase even more with each system upgrade level. That way you can still dock, but it will still be a "pain" to just ignore the sov (no med bay, corp office, agents, etc...). And the increase price of in-station repair will put a damper on extended station game gheyness - due to the excessive price to repair - as well as be another "motivator" to keep sov in the first place. |

I like option two, but also add modifiers to keeping the corp office there, sure you can let the bill lapse but then maybe there will not be a spot open. Also perhaps add a timer for using fitting services or changing ships (docking to just be able to repair is maybe just a bit too restrictive). Keep no medical, agents, etc. have the corp hanger cost and repair cost scale at the same rate as the tier bonuses, starting at system upgrade level 2. This would also act as a small isk sink, which eve does need. |

No they aren't. If you don't like station games dont fight at stations. It's that simple. Gate camps are worse. Make faction war occupancy pvp instead of pve https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=53815&#post53815
