For just over 4 weeks, Battle Angels Inc has been contracted by Arkflyer of COE to engage war with Slacker Industries. The objective - Keep the Providence region clear of them and their friends. During this time, there were many other wars vs The Sioux, Sons of Amun, and Legio XXX.
It is safe to say that as a result of this contract, COE benefited greatly from having a clear path into Providence for the majority of this time. Many of their enemies chose to either not log on, hide or move to a different region.
The highlight of the contract was receiving war declarations from The Sioux and Sons of Amun. While The Sioux proved to be a worthy opponent with a few good pilots, Sons of Amun chose to fight less effectively, then attempted to recover from their losses by mining (big mistake). These declarations were soon retracted, and Battle Angels returned the favour to inflict further losses.
The results of the contract can be found here on our killboard, and below is a summary of the results:
Slacker Industries: Kills (Losses)
BS: 10 (0) HAC: 1 (0) Battle Cruiser: 3 (1) Cruiser: 4 (2) Assault Frigate: 3 (3) Interceptor: 13 (8) Frigate: 3 (0) Shuttle: 1 (0)
All other kills (losses) during the contracted period in order to keep Providence and surrounding empire systems clear:
Battleship: 39 (8) Heavy Assault: 5 (0) Battle Cruiser: 4 (0) Cruiser: 19 (1) Assault Frigate: 11 (5) Interceptor: 11 (0) Frigate: 8 (1) Industrial: 1 (0) Mining Barge: 1 (0) Shuttle: 1 (0)
Our employer is satisfied, and Battle Angels will be moving on. Will we return? I believe this could well be just a matter of time.

I forgot to mention that included in the highlights was the destruction of a Machariel, and a Vigilant - the first faction ship kills by Battle Angels, and both in the same day (Happy now Boldyn? ).

Yes, thank you master
I'd like to say thanks to the people of Providence and most of Devoid, both targets and friendlies. Thought I'd say that before the flaming and smacking by the kids kick in
Special mention to Operated for being a great sport, you really know what this game is all about mate and Apparition for being a kickass combatpilot!
Small, crappy, "not-of-Dash Ripcock quailty" movie will come soonÖ

So is this why Nez left to join Battle Angels as well? To hunt down and kill Biased Fury over and over again (without looking like a stalker)?
Glad to see you guys are having success in your new venture

Thankyou for your kind words, unfortunately Nez decided to leave the game shorty after leaving FIX , but he may be seen logging on now and then in his noob corp for a bit of fun.

Bah, I was more poking fun at the Nez/RF feud than anything. I couldn't care less about the map or 'impacting' Eve with anything more than a single player having fun.

Too bad you didn't want to fight when we had an even sized gang (you 8 us 9, you had 2 more BS) and waited until you had double the BS numbers.

One sided stories ftw Here is my side of the events - all is quiet and we take a gang into Providence to complete the complex, we get to the 2nd stage and decide to head back to attempt to clear KBP coming from the 0.0 entrance with our NPC fitted BS. We did that, you all warped off after taking a loss, and we destroyed the warp bubble. Hope that clears it up

Like I said, you know what the game is all about Operated. Always looking for a fight, often ending up outnumbered since you were often out hunting on your own

Edited by: SLIM on 22/08/2005 22:05:34 I'll restrain myself, I promise :P
Battle Angels do exactly what they state. They inflict what damage they can, while taking minimal losses. I would say they will not engage unless there is at least a 95% chance of victory. This often means they miss out on a lot of targets of opportunity, but it also probably makes them substantially more affordable than many other merc corps, as they have high efficiency. They are a very effective force for harassing an enemy, but not for destroying one. Use them for driving an enemy out of your area for a while, use MC for decimating an enemy. Both have their merits, and are experienced pilots, depending on how much of a hit you want your wallet to take.
My corporation is not wholly a carebear one (we do have several newer members, but a good portion of our actives have at least some PVP experience, with at least 10 having substantial pvp experience). I think I would call the results of this campaign a reflection of our frustration. We are not as used to enemies who will not fight on a whim. Towards the end, it became a bit of a standstill. Most of us just ended up moving a few jumps away, as it was not worth it to camp esescama/choonka all day and then be attacked later at night when our numbers dwindled.
To BA's credit, getting 75% percent efficiency against my corporation is not very easy. They had to have a lot of patience waiting for a time when they could be sure we would not turn the tables on them.
I think the killboards reflect this. BA, you can feel free to critique my reasoning. I'd be interested to see how you view yourselves.

That is a valid opinion to have SLIM, but I don't agree on some points, mainly the missing out on targets due to not wanting to engage. This is totally untrue, if we find a target, we will do our best to go and kill it. Unfortunately we can't extract people from stations . I will only state facts here, you say we don't fight unless there is a 95% chance of winning? The best fight of the contract was our 5 BS, vs your 5 BS and an inty sat at optimal ranges around the gate we jumped through, the killboard shows the results .
We are perfectly capable of destroying a corp, or inflicing maximum damage, but as you say, we are very efficient and therefore can take on contracts at a lower price and still make a good profit. That is what the business is about, right?
Thanks.

No one likes loosing ships. We take on enough even or outnumbered fights to last us a lifetime.
One thing to remember is that we are a good bunch of friends and we stick together. If 5 people are online, then those 5 people will be togther hunting, most likely anyway. If the enemy count is 3 or 4 or 5, we wont tell anyone "hey, u sit by and listeen on TS", that would be rather silly wouldn't it?
Besides, for most of our campaign, our corp were at 14 members, slackers are a wee bit more then that. We can't be blamed that you don't have more people online. It is summer, so that is totally understandable.
We have accepted (afaik) every 1 on 1 you guys have offered. Mostly apparition
I wont get into anything I have seen from you guys, there is no need. So thank you for your time and the fights, good luck in the future.
Regards
