Edited by: Hippey on 25/07/2003 14:47:13 Anyone seen this displayed sometimes? When you do show info on your fitted guns, hell even missile launchers, there seems to be a new modifier called DAMAGE. Weird thing is, I doesn't always show up.
Btw, this is NOT to be confused with DAMAGE MULTIPLIER (ie. 8.1239x or something).
When it did show up ,however, another odditiy that happened is that I had a 650 scout with PP loaded and it said DAMAGE 3.638424333 but the 650 scout loaded with Sabot said 4.638424333 . Exactly one higher. Why would a gun with Sabot have a higher value then the PP?
And why does it only show up sometimes? Hmmmm. Do you have to have a target locked and then do show info and it will display the values in regard to the locked target so you can see which gun will do more damage?? Hmmmm.. most testing to do. Appreciate anyone else's input on this ------------------------------------------- If you kill them, they will die!

Edited by: Lithorus on 25/07/2003 15:08:09 This is the damage done to the gun/modules, you know the damage you repair in the repair bay. I made the same mistake a while back :)

how does the damage affect the performance? does it reduce tracking/damage mod? I'd be interested to find out.
This would tie in well if the option ever turns up to target specific systems on a ship. ie. take out the warp modules and the launchers first, etc. .

That's weird... Sometimes I see about 0.53424252524 damage on my gauss guns... But it was actually a long time ago since my shields went completely down, so I don't see how they could have gotten damaged. |

Hmm, when I noticed it, I don't think I had any armor damage. But I'm not sure so I'll definetly check again. ------------------------------------------- If you kill them, they will die!

Strange thing is you can take damage to moduals without even getting hit it seems.
Happened to me the other day I was full everything because I had gotten beat up really bad and repaired everything.
When flew around came back still full everything.
Went and did some mining came back sure enough on of my afterburners got beat up. -------- "OMG IT'S TRAMMEL 2.0!!!!" -QBall

some damage actually pierces the shield and hits the armor... always ends up happening eventually. Plus there's probably some weapon damage due to use... can't expect to fire a gun a few thousand times and have it in the same condition as when you bought it, now can you?

I believe it is tactical shield manipulation that is the stat shield uniformity. To handle piercing attacks like that.

"can't expect to fire a gun a few thousand times and have it in the same condition as when you bought it, now can you?"
Theoretically, yeah. There is no friction in space.

You don't have to have current hull or armor dammage. If you lose any armor or hull you can dammage your items. Even if you reaip to 100% with modules like I do you will still have dammage to your items. The only way to repair a item is in the repair hanger. You also, can not list a item for sale on the market if it is dammaged.
To be more clear, you can have 100% armor and hull but have a dammaged item from a previous battle. Spelling corrections welcome, but don't expect me to edit my post. |
