So,
I am an old school FC looking to get the rust blown clean off my shoulders from a 2 year hiatus. I would like to join the militia that is in need of most help, and it seems to be the Amarr. I would like to now a few things:
1- Is the Amarr indeed the militia currently worse off? 2- Do they NEED FC's? 3- Where is the staging system typically used?
Thanks all! |

1) Amarr morale is high and we're not fail cascading. Having said that we are significantly outnumbered and have a weak EU TZ presence.
2) EU TZ FC's are in very short supply.
3) Kamela, Sahtogas, and Siseide are the main strongholds.

Before the CCP live event last Friday I would have told you to join Gallente since we were, by all accounts, rapidly failcascading. But now that we've taken down that Titan in Luminaire I'd say you should join Caldari since now they are clearly the underdog. |

Just double check your timezone vs the militia you are joining. The balance of power between militias swings drastically from timezone to timezone and even hour to hour. . |

Agreed, the destruction of the Titan was a hard fought and well deserved victory. The gallente should be proud.

I'm amazed you can say that with a straight face. The map is almost ENTIRELY red (ie, Minmatar). I think the numbers argument is lame; the problem is lack of leadership and gangs that aren't seriously fail. And yes, I have an alt currently in the 24th doing offensive plexing in Minnie space. Fail cascade is when there are only 38 pilots in your militia channel. I've been there for that. And that is not the case now. Amarr is very strong in the US TZ. It is well led in the US TZ. We need more people and organization in the Euro TZ. |

The question is (and I do NOT have any info on this) are the numbers for "very strong" farming, doing non-FW stuff, or just hanging out in Militia chat? I did a roam last night thru the Minnie low sec area up to the border and into Amarr space, and I only came across a lot of Minnie (western US TZ, 6pm to 8pm). The only two Amarr I came across were docked at a stationone hop inside Minnie space (can't remember the system). I'm considering having a second alt (one of my mains) join Amarr militia just to go plexing in that no-man's land I flew thru... "Blow it all on Quafe and strippers." --- Sorlac |

I've found that the Amarr militia like their pvp way way way more than they like plexing.
This is the underlying reason why they are losing the warzone. Minmatar have huge numbers of plexers in their ranks.
Whereas the Gal/Cal militias seem to have a fair share of both pvp and plexers (possibly more plexers for Caldari but I haven't spent a great deal of time here yet to decide.)
But losing WZ control is not failcascading depending on you POV. If you fight in FW just for the pvp then WZ control mean little to nothing, if yo fight in FW to be able to fund your pvp then WZ control means something - how much depends on your need to pad your wallet or have fleets of ships ready to reship etc. That is the Way, the Tao.

Good questions. I can tell you that the last two nights in a row we had to chase a fleet of 40 out of Siseide. A large number of us on a regular basis try to stave off small gangs from plexing in Siseide or try to offensively plex Vard.
There is usually a nightly roam. Sometimes it is about FW and other times not.
On a personal note the times I delve into Metro to offensive plex I usually find myself rushing back due to some crisis or another. There are those of us who care about occupancy- more would be nice. |

The issue around the Amarr militiac losing WZC is two fold really.
Lack of focus on plexing and more about pvp'ing
and
Lack of numbers to actually mass plex.
The focus needs to change from just a defend your own base to being more offensive, but the lack of number then seriously hampers any inroads you gain from any offensive plexing that you actually do.
As for encouraging plexer to amarr.....?????......I've no idea tbh maybe revamp LP stores and the silly tag requirements give the lack of rats nowadays?? That is the Way, the Tao.

Plexing is Boooo0000riiingggg.... most sane people just do fw for pvp or so id hope. If it means its plexing to get pvp then i understand but ... wait the thread... what was it about.
Tbh the friends I have in Amarr arent too sad by being pushed to only few systems, means you dont have to travel far for pee vee pee. :)

This is bullshit that gets trotted out by the Amarr (and, to a much lesser extent, some Caldari) whenever they're losing hard at WZ control. There is certainly no shortage of Amarr miltia members plexing, nor is there a lack of Minmatar corps that are apathetic to the state of the warzone beyond their immediate backyard. Plexing near a major militia hub is a pretty solid way to get a small fight, and there is a substantial overlap between top killers and top VP scorers. And I promise you, there aren't any fights to be had docked up in Kamela. If you want fights, go out, do ****, and be mindful of what your opposition can field. Yeah, plexing is boring. It's why the winning side tends to backslide, since who wants to dplex all that?
Besides, winning blows. It's much easier to find fights when people are coming into your constellation, and then you don't have to deal with POSed up link alts. |

No it's not bullshit you are just not getting the meaning of the phase.
Plexing to get fights is pvp focus. Now plexing to gain WZC is a very different beast as it is best done by AVOIDING fights and the mojority of Amarr militia members I know don't avoid fights therefore there plexing time is drastically reduced.
Amarr do not plex for WZC like the other militia do. Minnie blob plex very often (mass hordes or plex farmers taking over the place) Cal/Gal seem to have a good balance of plexing for pvp and WZC.
This is not a winge about the minnie plexing effort or trying to demean the work done just a statement of my observations.
Simple put even when Amarr were 'winning' they DGAF and pretty much only plexed to try and find fights.....why did the minnies lose so much control??? buggered if know....it was not because the Amarr militia all of a sudden got a plex obsession. That is the Way, the Tao.

if you prefer fighting when you FC then join fweddit or one of the amarr militia groups that want to pvp. your FC skils will be put to use.
if you prefer to plex then just join the militia of any of the militas and spam in channel begging for others to join. |

It's gonna be tough to get into any FW faction and FC straight away.
Once people know and trust you - won't be a problem.
Make sure your up to date with the changes to pvp the frigate and cruiser balancing has brought about.
Amarr are one of the nice factions tbh. If you think they were assholes you should maybe avoid Caldari. We are total pricks.

Believe me when I say that I know how the flow of militias goes, and how you have to earn the trust of the folks in them... Its just frustrating to have to go through it all over again but thats what I get for taking a hiatus.
