Ok, maybe i am getting something wrong with them or they do not fully work as they are supposed to do.
My understanding so far is:
If i am in warp and approaching a gate that has a warp bubble set in front of it that disrupts my warp path i will drop out of warp before my bookmark and will exit warp at the warp bubble.
If i warp to a bookmark in front of a bubble, lets say 100km¦s, and the warp bubble does not sit in my warp path i will not be affected.
So this happened to me and this is what i need clarification on:
I warped to a gate at 100km to check how the camp looks like, there is a warp disruptor placed BEHIND the gate, roughly 110km¦s away from my warp exit point. I leave warp at the bubble, so basicially 110km¦s off my bookmark even though i did NOT cross the bubble when coming out of warp. It magicially sucked me to the bubble.
Is this behaviour intended ??
Feedback appreciated.

I think it's a bug. It doesn't always happen, from what I can tell. But it may also be an unintended feature. I too would like to know which one it is.

i'm guessing a bug, caused by the way the disruptors are coded.. -==- Holy-Jim> as you know, surprise is the key to victory.....surprise! LooseCannoN> ahh! LooseCannoN> my plans have been foiled! |

This obviously is a bug, and personally I think anyone caught putting bubbles behind gates should get warnings for expoiting bugs. This has gotten a lot of ships destroyed, and it's quite apparent it's not meant to work like that, therefore, anyone using them in that way are exploiters and should be warned/banned.
People can try and make excuses all they want, but no where anywhere is it even remotely hinted at that bubbles can suck you into them.

if your warp path = same plane as bubble, I think you should get sucked in the bubble.

bubble behaviour is TOTALLY unpredictable. It seems that placing the bubble on the location of the insta-bm usually sucks in the insta users, not always though. Sometimes they exited warp 100km off the bubble, sometimes they got sucked right into it. Today we kept getting ppl sucked on the edge of the bubble and thus could warp away (wtf is the use of this). We also found a spot at a gate that it sucks everybody warping anywhere to the gate from other gates (15-100km), we loved that spot, kept it
Point is, find a spot that works, keep it.

remember, Instas are too powerfull!!
Read ack how much ppl whined about instas....
Boubbles are now fixed and they are working quite well....
The boubble is the only way to stop an insta user..
They are fine! and yep, they suck in ppl useing instas, and if you place them well (wont tell you how) they will suck in everything warping to the gate from a specific direction... - New sig coming soon.. |

yep, somedays it works and other times you catch nothing.

bubbles arent unpredictable, place a bubble and if anyone warps in even remotely near it (up to 100km away) they get magically sucked into the bubble. Ive warped in 100k to the bubble and sudden found my ship sucked into it. Bubbles should be bubbles, not vaccum cleaners.

Intentional? Dunno, only CCP can answer that. But I do know the 'logic' behing using them, and know where to place them behind a gate in order to 'suck' people into them. Until CCP says this is not intended behaviour, I plan to continue using them in the way I've found to be most effective. There is no way in hell CCP doesn't know about this, it is how every smart PvPer uses them (well, one of 3 main ways at least, but this is the most common).
If you don't want to get sucked into a bubble (hmm, maybe I shouldn't give away tactical secrets to potential enemies :P).

Then I think that anyone who tries uses an insta on a gate where there's a bubble setup in front of the gate, then finds the bubble places them 100k away from the gate should move themselves up into the bubble as that's where they were supposed to have came out.
Anyone turning and running away instead (thanking their lucky stars that bubbles are bugged at times) is quite blatantly exploiting and should be warned/banned.
You can't have it both ways!!!
Personally, I think that this means that bubbles now work the way they should.

This is actually the logical way it should work.
As you wrote you warped to your bookmark at a 100km not the gate at a 100km. The bookmark I bet was an 'instajump bookmark' placed roughly ~15km behind the gate - or in other words inside the bubble. The X/Y/Z coordinates of your bookmark was as such inside the bubble and therefor you land in the bubble.
It works like it should - stop using instajump bookmarks and you'll never have a problem.
(with warp bubbles that is)

I warped to the gate at 100km, not my bookmark ;) If i had warped to my BM i would not have complained about it ...

Ya its a sucky bug my friend died to it and the gms turned round and gave him sum BS about it being a random event but its obivous that he would not of lost his ship had it warped where he stated its only happened to me once thou so its not all that common. Things in this game should be fair thats was **** people off the most when the enemy warps to ure bubble at 100km and can snipe u next time u do it to then u get sucked right in for no reason, either make it always or give reason and thus a way to avoid it.
