67-3
Bloody hell - looks like we have to rely on Pieterson/Flintoff/Jones and I just dont have confidence in Pietersen :(

And you'd be right - but who, after being by far the best player of the series, has just dropped a ridiculously easy catch?
Mr. Warne
Yet another twist in this series .. and no doubt there are a few more to come. Anyone got nails left? ____________________________________

I wish someone would explain to be wtf Bell is doing in the team! He's awful. They should of had both Collingwood and Anderson in the tem. Still, the most nerve racking test I've seen for years.

Well, it's lunch. Now that Flintoff is gone, I don't think we'll be celebrating at six o'clock.
Please prove me wrong England.

Who would have thought Pieterson would be a hero??
Up until today he was my winner of the Underperformer of The Series award...
Now that'll have to go to the runner up, Bell :)
And yeah, wtf is he doing in the side?

And a maiden Test century for Pietersen. Overdue, but what an opportune time to produce it.
It's very finely balanced atm. If the English tail can wag, they can kill the game off; if we're all out in the next half hour, things will be VERY dicey. ____________________________________

I think Australia, if they got the remaining 3 wickets in the next 15 overs, would need to get around 10 runs per over to win...O.o

Actually, I think it'd be more like 8 runs per over and I doubt even Aussies can do that...
I'm glad Pietersen is proving us all wrong for once

Have taken time off work to watch the last test and its killing me, 2 cases of becks, 1 case of carling (minging) on my 3rd bottle of gin and the tonic is running out, my nerves are shot.
I love cricket.
I picked up this ace book today everyone rates it as a must buy for the budding military genius, tho ive decided to rename it as "Sun Tzu's art of the bloody obvious" |

You mean the same way Ponting took his bowlers off at the first offer of bad light because he was afraid of Flintoff's bowling? Despite Australia needing to rack up the runs?
Uh-huh.

Besides which, it *can't* have been as bad conditions, let alone worse; once any side has accepted the light during the game, the umpires *must* offer it as soon as the light reaches the same level at any future point.
Anyway, no grousing please. The Aussies have dominated the world of cricket for fifteen years; they have declined from their absolute peak, but they are, still, the best side in the world. It's just nice to know that England are this close, and that given home advantage and a shade of luck, they can actually take the Ashes back
An excellent series, all round. The '81 Ashes had some more spectacular individual moments, but I don't recall ever seeing a series as gripping as this one. A shame it has to end in such farcical confusion, though. ____________________________________
