I've heard people say corpses are valuable but I've never seen where you could sell one. What is the deal with them anyway? I can understand why a big name pirate's corpse would be valuable, sort of like a trophy, but what about us ordinary smucks?

I will pay 5k for a corpse or even more if you got a big pile of them . And they are quite useless and cant be used for anything unless, as someone else posted here, belong to a celebrity i guess. Please evemail me in EVE. Supersonix is the name. Btw, I'm just a collector.

Here's a tip then, before they change this.
Make an alt, have another alt on a sep char kill the pod, do so until sec rating is down too far to stay in system, the reverse process.
Do so until both alts are too low, then delete. You should rack up a nice pile of corpses in a few days. ------------------- Basic truths? Idiots make us rich. - Some people are only alive because it is illegal to kill them. |

Edited by: Bashar on 30/07/2003 19:01:54 A seemingly simple fix would be to have the clone contract be recorded, and the resulting biomass generated at death would be dependant on the biomass used initially in the clone. If corpses were treated as a resource like ore, and had to be "refined" into usuable biomass, then the lower quality clones used for newbies would yield less usuable biomatter...where as the corpse from a nice big tough pirate (or other person with a good clone contract) would probably be very valuable giving a high % of usable biomass (because he paid for the nice 3 million dollar clone). It would provide more incentive for killing high ranking people instead of newbs, and it would also limit the experienced players wanting to make alts to kill themselves since the alts corpses would not be valuable enough to be worth the effort to kill them, whereby providing one more thing for a cash desperate newb to do....commit suicide for the 1000 isk he can get from his low quality corpse.

Ahh, forgot about the suicide thing =)
Yes, that's an idea, but how do you rank biomass according to clones, in clone just retaining memories and skill. Just the grey matter changes on clones, not your actual body, which imo is the majority of it . . . ------------------- Basic truths? Edited by: Bashar on 30/07/2003 21:09:53 You use the same ranking system that is already in place when you purchase a clone contract. According to the "story" the lower quality the clone is the less memory it retains at transfer (skill loss) and the more inferior the biomass itself is...the free ones are rumored to even sometimes contain a % of non-human biomass *oh gasp* Anyway...if your frozen corpse is from a free clone, the "usable" biomass extractable from it would be considerably less than if you extracted the biomass from a corpsickle from a high quality clone...you get the idea
The whole point being this would provide value diffrentiation between "good corpses" and "bad corpses" and would prevent any widespread interest in suicide or newbie hunting, as their corpses would not be nearly as profitable as those form a high quality clone.

You can't refine corpses.
The noob corpse can never be worth anything for the same reason that noob ships, weapons etc. aren't worth anything. Maybe corpses from higher quality clones could be worth something one day.
The point for me and Supersonix is to collect them. Unlike civilian railguns one corpse does differ from the next and so you could put a price on them. Kind of like collecting baseball cards.
Obviously if there hundreds of "Fetty Chico's" around then they won't be worth as much as a "Lord Zap". You could even get people driven to assasination to get the last of a TTI set...

Bashar I think that your ideas are excellent and that you should put them on the idea labs suggestion forums, hoping that the devs will read it.

I wonder how much a "Moo" corpse would go for. I'm collecting aswell and have found atleast 20 so far, mostly in pf-346 area. I'm not willing to pay for just anyone's corpse though, but I'll pay 10K atleast for someone important.
