currently they can be 30% better than the normal t1 guns if my math is right.
but they can use advanced ammo by christmas so will do even more damage/specialist type.

Well if you are mining 23/7 in empire... then answer is no. If you want to pvp alone... then again no(unless you want to snipe haulers in empire = sux).
Also for npcing they are not really cap friendly and cpu friendly... but they will fit somehow.
For pvp... theoreticaly most damaging long range guns...

I use 'em on my Megathron with Gallente BS Level 5 and Large Railgun Spec 4 and they kick ass!

7x 0.3 =2.1 so like 9.1 tech 1s on your mega, perhaps more after the tech II ammo comes. B4 that, for fitting resons + if you are filthy rich, you might be better of with Protos that will do 6% less dmg but allow an extra Mag Stab in lows or the Loners Fav. of a Heavy NOS instead of a rocket launcher or soemthing in the last high.

If you looked at the stats, why do you need to know wether or not they are worth training for? You should be able to do that on your own.

Bit off topic here but the advanced ammo will it require new skills or is it just for t2 guns and how do you know it will be here by Xmas?
Thanks

T2 guns seem to track better no matter what it says in the stats. Had a setup with practily the same tracking stats but the t2 guns hit more often.

Well, with stock modules, yes.
However, I have a 3% ROF implant and I guess there are 5% ones going around and that would improve my DPS a bit more.
Faction turrets would be nice, too, but I'm unsure if they would benefit from the specialization bonuses or whether their dmg mod is such that it doesn't matter.
