I seem to be noticing an awful lot of people offloading battleship and cruiser blueprint originals lately, certainly alot more than usual.
Anyone got any ideas why or if you are one of the chars to offload your print and its not a secret perhaps tell us why?

My guess would be it's the top-end manufacturers that have moved into large scale capital ship production, and now find that they don't have the resources to run the capital and battleship operations simultaneously. So they're liquidating their unused assets to allow them to invest in the new sector.
Might mean a bit of fluctuation in ship supply, but nothing that's going to bring the economy down.
You can do anything. But you can't do everything. |

Have you seen the price of BS BPCs lately? They're so low, there's no way to get a return on investment for a BS BPO. There are too many BPO owners now, all frantically dropping their print prices in the hope of a sale. You're better off selling the BPO and buying copies, and I think that's what people are doing (after running off a load of copies of their own, presumably).

people bought them to research and resell when prices were really high, and missed the curve. that's my guess

I blame CCP for the ability to make copies what so ever. No bpc's or increase the time it take to make copies 10 times over would help some.

Not much profit in battleship production right now. So you have the choice of selling BPC or gathering up all the minerals to build a BS, which is a lot of work to find the needed quanties.
Personally, I think its mostly mineral cost are too high except for mega which is way too low. Look at the base prices on the minerals.

It's not just battleship and cruiser BPCs, either - I've noticed a large increase in BPCs for all sorts of ship types on escrow. Those for the smaller ship types seem to be at bargain bucket prices, which made me wonder whether all the effort on the part of the sellers can really be worth it. Conversely, those for things like mining barges seem - with my rough and ready calculations - like a terrible buy. With the price of barges at the moment, a 5 million ISK BPO and the minerals cost more than the equivalent ship.
On a lighter (but related) note, someone somewhere is looking for their Raven BPO. One of the occasional inhabitants of the Help channel bought what was described as couple of Raven BPCs on escrow. In a bizarre reversal of the normal escrow fraud, it turned out to be 1 BPC and 1 BPO.

I know the raven market is really depressed what with the missile nerf and all. I also believe that the introduction of the faction bs's has hurt the bs market. I used to sell about 2 to 3 ravens a week in niyabainen for around 120mil. Now, jita has the price as low as 109 mil. And there are alot on the market. I am seeing more and more faction bs's being flown by former customers.
