14,95 euro * 13 = 194,34

plex cost more than game time, those extra 5 euro/dollars are the reason they let you "activate" accounts with plex.
and yeah, this is why everytime i see some clueless person assume CCP dislikes ppl having alts, or playing with plex i just facepalm. CCP loves plex. they allow them to charge 20 usd/ euro for montly subscription, when the industry average is 14.95. |

I would guess most people pay closer to $17.50 for PLEX because they buy GTCs for $35 and convert them to two PLEX. $20 is the single PLEX price and is mainly for people that can't afford $35 or don't know what they are doing. |

You can also just buy 2 PLEX for $35. The $20 price only applies if you buy single PLEX. |

Someone in a similar thread said it was due to EU countries charging VAT taxes on it, while the US doesn't. I'm not 100% sure if it's true, but makes sense. |

Yep, there is VAT involved for European residents. To be more precise (taken from our Account Management page):
wrote: European Union E-commerce Directive 2002/38/EC, Regulation 792/2002 stipulates that all EU residents must pay a Value Added Tax (VAT) on electronically supplied services including online games. CCP is thus obligated to add a VAT on all payment transactions for customers living within the EU.

the reason is because ccp is not good at things and doesn't realize 1 dollar != 1 euro, and prices everything at the same amount of dollars or euros
in essence european players subsidize americans |

as you can probably guess, the VAT does not happen to always equal the difference in value between dollars and euros |

well if you buy gtc for 34 usd and live in eu and have cc you can get a lot of more plexes.
34 usd for 2 plexes is around 24 euros. thus you could get 3 plexes more |

It's likely to reflect GDP. Plex sellers are more likely to come from countries where everyone is individually richer. USA has a higher GDP than most of Europe.
It may also be affected by income distribution. I don't know whether countries where the 1% are relatively richer means more plex sold or less. There's a well-known story of a Russian billionaire buying a very large sum of plex a few years ago. |
