Edited by: Shaikura Karkungi on 18/09/2005 17:34:01 Just started the game today. It seems like a complex game. I have not played before. I chose it because i heard the community is one of the best. I like the space idea alot. I tried wow and lasted about 2 months. To much of a kiddie game and the community is horrible. From what i've been reading,it seems like a good idea to train your learning skills first. Is this right? So far all i have done was the tutorial. That has got to be the best one i've ever played. It really helps you alot. If any of you has some advice for me please post them. I have been reading all the stickys and found them helpful too. I just can't wait to get enough isk for my rifter and probe. I am going to start off with missions and mining when i get them.

hi Shaikura Karkungi,
welcome to eve :-)
if you plan to play eve for quite a while, then i recommend to start with the learing skills soon. but before, it might be a good idea to train some ship skills, so you can start shooting the bad guys (NPC) whilst you are training the learning skills.
feel free to contact me in-game for some help.
greets

It's a good idea to get all of the Learning skills up to level 2 or 3, just because it gives you a huge return for not much of a time investment. Then you can train some of the stuff that'll actually help you enjoy the game. Once it's time to train some stuff to level 5, though, you may want to consider training the various Learning skills to 5 and then training the advanced learning skills.
Welcome to EVE! -------------- What good are actions if there's no one to tell the tale afterward?

It is easy to get lost in the community, and you start saying things like... well my corp... in real life and people look at you funny. Anywayz welcome to EVE, make many friends and find many chat channels to hang out in. Also listen to EVE-Radio if you get a chance, that can be a very different experience. ----
Now Recruiting, ingame channel "I G" or convo me ingame. |

You sound like one of us, welcome :)
Yes I agree nothing against kids but WoW is for kids.
Also IMO this game can be very relaxing, a good thing in todayÆs hectic fast pasts world IMO.
My advice is to not to try and sat a huge goal and wait for it to happen to have fun, just play for now mostly not all but mostly.
And yes this is a solid community getting bigger and keeping players.
