Ombey, do you make these in Visio? Any chance of a download of the .vsd?
(Sorry if this has already been asked; I'm in a hurry.) _____ ^ That is a sig line. It should be there without me having to put one in. |

Originally by: Swidgen Wonderful stuff Ombey. Unfortunately I erased my v3.62 pdf file before discovering my older version of Adobe Acrobat won't open the v3.63 file. Could you please re-save the pdf so that it's compatible with older Adobe Acrobat versions? v3.62 opened just fine (albeit with a warning). And if that's not possible, could I somehow obtain one of the v3.62 pdf files?
Thank you for your outstanding effort on these maps.
We've sorted this via email I believe. Dunno why 3.63 is suddenly an issue, not really made any changes other than simple map changes

I thought you left EVE????
I had, but returned in March '09 :)
Originally by: kneemen I'm missing something and I'm sorry that I'm asking this question, but is there an index of the systems that shows locations on the maps (I see you have them broken up into a grid 1-11 and A-G)? If there is where do I get it?
Thanks in advance!
No, but I am planning to do this- just wasn't sure how useful it would be, given you can just do <Ctrl> + <F> and search within the PDF for the name
Originally by: So'Lar Wynde What is going on with the maps? No matter what link I use, it starts the download and then locks up. I have the latest version of Adobe Reader which is working fine for everything else, but it doesn't like these new maps. I have an older version of the maps which I love, but I want the updated version. Any ideas?
No idea, not had any reports of issues from other people. Email me directly and I'll send it via email (o m b e y AT o m b e v e.co.uk)

Yes, I do make them and Visio, and no you can't have a copy. Although it's free, I don't want to just give away the master :-P

Understandable. Luff and huggles for the maps as they are. :D
Why is it you let lines cross so often, though? For instance; Heimatar. Hrodmund (C9) to Bundindus (D9) crosses Roniko (D8) to Aralgrund (C10), which could be solved by making Roniko (D8) to Aralgrund (C10) a positive curve, and moving Bundindus-Otraren-Hedgiviter inside it. Things are like this all over the universe. _____ ^ That is a sig line. It should be there without me having to put one in. |

Because I mapped everything by hand, not using any kind of fancy algorithm, and it was hard to see the forest for the trees after a while. I clean them up where I see them or where they get reported. I will implement your idea though, it's simple enough, cheers. Looking at, I can do the same for Roniko <> Offugen.

Keedoke, I'll do this one region at a time.
Aridia - No change.
Black Rise: - Curve (Ienakkamon (B2) <-> A****su (C3)) around (Hykanima (B3) <-> Saranemi (C2) <-> Karjataimon (D2) region jump) - Move (Elunala (E9)) upwards into the triangle created by (Ikoskio (D8) <-> Asakai (D9) <-> Prism (D9) <-> Ikoskio) - Move (Tsurama (C7)) and (Astoh (C7)) into the ring created by (Onnamon (B7) <-> Ahtila (D7) <-> Samanuni (D7) <-> Uuhulanen (C8) <-> Onnamon).
No further simplification possible. _____ ^ That is a sig line. It should be there without me having to put one in. |

I can download it or view it in a browser OK
- Try viewing it in a browser, then try a different browser
- Try downloading the file (instead of viewing it) then launching it
- What PDF reader are you using? Maybe try a different one

I'd love if you could make the system you clicked from blink to easier find transitions, but really, I think it's the PDF standard's limitation more than anything.
Great job, love it!

Edited by: Mzilikazi on 03/06/2010 17:41:51 Many thanks for the map which has been invaluable to me and many others for years.
In a nearly perfect world however, it would in future have some PI information like number of planets and types of planets, but that is just me being too lazy. You've already put so much effort into this. Perhaps someone else will produce a PI version of a map similar to yours which ignores belts and shows planet types. In fact, before too long no doubt a website will pop up where you just type in the name of the system, constellation, or region and out pop planet numbers and planet type statistics and current sovereignty blah blah blah
Thanks again.

Thanks. I have been thinking about if it was possible to show PI information easily and without cluttering up the map, but given the amount of planet types, I'm not sure how this would be achieved.

I would think, just having number of planets in system would be very helpful, and not to clutter making. If you went father you would have to do something like you do with station services. A letter corresponding to each planet type.
Ideally, not being a really adapt computer person, someone would be able pull this information out of API data or something if it exists and setup a good interactive website. Then have people submit pictures of the basic resource amounts and link it all up and make it pretty.
What would be even more amazing and which I doubt will happen, is for CCP to make way more information available in the in game map, or they themselves create a much more functional website for the map, through eve gate or the wiki.
Oh and THANK YOU for these maps, I find them to be very helpful and have used them ever since I found out they existed.

I can't tell if this has been reported or not as I can't find a search thread field anywhere.
Anyway, on the eve universe map i think sinq laison-heimatar should be red dotted not green hard line as the only link appears to be via 0.4 sec Egghelende.

Edited by: Spyke BlackIce on 09/07/2010 19:19:19 These maps are awesome Ombey! I've been using them for the past year now and would be lost without them.
I do have a question though. I was just reading the equally awesome Beginner's Guide to Piracy by Skira Ranos and in it he mentions your maps as well as a particular map - ôOGLEö (the Outlaw's Guide to Lowsec Enterprise). I can't seem to find that map anywhere. Is it still available, has it been removed permanently, or was it omitted as an oversight? I would really like to see that map included again if at all possible.
Thanks for all of your hard work Ombey!

Do you have the latest version? I had taken it out, but re-added it in v3.63, and have recently released 3.64. I have omitted it inadvertently from the bookmarks in the PDF, but it's on page 71
