This thread has no content because you people derailed it.
I have zero standing/say in BoB. I'm about the lowest of low grunt. So this is just personal opinion. I mostly don't even post on these forums anymore.
This post is about a reactive war-dec on IMP. And it's phrase in a slightly amusing way. That's it.
IMP paid KIA to attack BoB, I have no idea why. Maybe some wierd feeling that it'd draw us out of 0.0 or something. I'll point out though, that since empire is now not safe to us, there's really no reason to NOT war-dec people. Especially a people that we mostly find in Aridia.
As for smack talking and such. BoB is formed by myriad people with myriad reasons.
I know I personally joined RKK because I like the people, and I saw them being part of the one org that was actually accomplishing my goals. Which was providing renewal, and growth to the world of Eve. I generally choose not to smack in local, I fight when it's time, and I don't warp in and out, or warp around safespots, and spew things in local about my l337 PvP prowess.
Territorial alliances rule by fear and opression. They horde their toys, and generally breed bad blood. When 0.0 was soley ruled by old-school territorial alliances, things were stagnant. The freedom and fun of the initial start of Eve was gone. Replaced by people who fancied themselves as leading the game, but for the most part were just showing the weakest and most pathetic aspects of human nature by not sharing, violently responding to their neighbors, hording what they could, and providing little respect to anyone not in their clique. It was a classic example of 7-year-old playground societies.
Now there's movement. Now there's strife. Now there's news. Now there's a reason to play the game.
Every carebear in empire should be cheering the forces who choose to break down the opressive bourgeois alliances. Every person who enjoys PvP should relish the increased activity of a system wide combat, instead of just a few choke points to protect the carebears who've styled themselves as "leet 0.0 pilots". The world of Eve should be thankful for BoB/5.
Yes, it's someone's proclivity to go to ground and "wait it out", but all you're doing during that time is wasting a whole region for the world of Eve as a whole. It's like greifing on a game-wide scale.
There's no reason combat has to be ganks or blobs. It's that way because people are less concerened about combat, and more concerned about the result (which will likely be bad for them).
Someone says "We logged on X people, and the other people ran away" Well fine. Set up a time to fight and hold to it. Specify the # of people or whatever to keep it from being a blob. I'm 100% sure BoB would do that.
But instead of coming up with possible answers or whatever. We just get the same tired rhetoric from people who refuse to acknowledge the truth, that their 'alliance' is founded on base instincts (greed), and will break down the instant instincts dictate that it's not a benefit anymore.
So yeah. Empire war with IMP and KIA now. Happy days.
