Well firstly... That looked fantastic. Everything from the V3'd stuff through to the new scan visual and gate travel. Well done.
One problem for me: I think my pc might explode...It literally barely runs Eve as it now so this new expansion is the actual death of it haha. Anyone else going to have pc problems?
Time for me to falcon punch the old pc out the window and get me a shiney new one...thank you CCP for givong me a reason to pull my finger out my backside and purchase one

Just to save your wallet:
You DONT need a shiny new PC. Any reasonably current CPU with a discrete graphics card of almost any kind will do. |

Eve can be played on a toaster!??!!? My god..the implications are staggering...no longer will I be forced to run through the house like a madperson to make toast while in a long warp, only to run back and find cold toast during the next warp.

I have a core 2 duo from 2009 and a graphics card that's just as old on my laptop and I'm doing fine on medium/high settings.
Maybe you should delete system32 Module activation timers are buggy. CCP please fix. |

If you're lucky (wallet-wise), maybe you could just about make due with everything else you already have and massively boost performance by just getting a new budget-ish video card, and maybe a bit of extra system RAM, everything for about a hundred bucks (or a bit more, but not very much). http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/User:Akita_T T2 BPO poll: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=114789 Buying this: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=147098 |

It is worth building one yourself. That way in the future you only need to upgrade parts. Graphics cards and CPU's to tend to become obsolete however HDD's Cases and power supplies will last you a good deal longer. Much cheaper than a full upgrade and enables you to stay totally competitive for a somewhat lower cost over the long term. RAM probably comes in between the two when it comes to obsolescence. For example this year I have uprated my GPU CPU and Mobo. Admittedly I spent some money on it but still much cheaper than getting a new future toaster every time. I drain ducks of their moisture for sustenance. |

Yup, 3D acceleration side, severely lacking. Basically, it means you are probably using just the graphics chip that's inside the i5 450M CPU, a processor that came out first nearly 3 years ago, with the very first (and also very weak) generation of Intel HD graphics chip parts. It should be at least 4 times slower (maybe even 6 times slower) than current-gen Intel HD 4000s in similarly-priced CPUs, and who knows how much slower compared to the 5th gen "GT*" series which will be included in the CPUs that come out this summer.

I'd look into get a better GPU if you plan to play other (high-end) games. The screen is good but with a bit of careful searching you could get an LED IPS screen for the same or a bit higher price.

The video cards are both complete WEAKSAUCE. My nearly three years old GTX 460 is more than twice as fast than either of them. Also, Alienware generally costs something extra just for the brand name with relatively little to actually show for it in terms of actual performance.
For the best results given a rather clear budget, always build your own. http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=1559734 Seriously, read that one ASAP.
Quote:Monitor option: ASUS 23" VS238H-P (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+23%26%2334%3B+Widescreen+LED+Monitor/3706239.p?id=1218428704344&skuId=3706239) Nearly 190$ ? That's fairly expensive (on that particular site only, though, since you can find it for as low as 160$ on other sites like, say, Amazon), and it's a TN panel (which means, going a bit off-center with your head will look really ugly real fast (example : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4PvtUdRdDw - the second one), so, you know, "bleh".
Personally, I prefer CRT monitors (virtually as good as no input lag, practically unchanged image quality at nearly any reasonable viewing angle), but they're no longer really being produced (plus, they're MASSIVE, and I mean like table-breaking massive), so the next least worst thing is an IPS panel monitor (fairly decent viewing angles, and also, depending on actual monitor, possibly negligible input lag), the only drawback being that they're the most expensive for similar size/resolution (however, the price gap has been reducing fast in later years, and is now negligible).
Go for a ASUS VS239H-P monitor instead - that's a 23-Inch Full-HD LED IPS Monitor. It's nearly the same as the one you listed, but with an IPS panel instead of whatever the other one has (the other which is almost surely not IPS). It's only 170$ on Amazon and has a 10$ post-purchase rebate, so it actually costs you the same 160$ the other monitor would cost you on Amazon, after the rebate. http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/User:Akita_T T2 BPO poll: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=114789 Buying this: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=147098 |
