So yeah, she's almost done! This was a bit of a tough redesign since so many people have such a strong emotional attachment to the Apocalypse. I love it. The old Apoc was a ship that I found myself more often than not, simply not flying because I couldn't enjoy looking at it. It looked half done, in a way that made no sense. Besides that, as I mentioned in the T1 BS thread, the old Apoc looked like a pimp's haircomb. This one looks like a ship I would be proud to fly into battle. Not posting on my main, and loving it.-á Because free speech.-á

A ship like that is basically a skyscraper, the effect of gravity being replaced with the thrust form the engines. A static structure can be different as the lateral forces are predictable, but with a warship you don't know which angle its coming from, manoeuvres will create new centripetal forces as it turns ect. It needs to be balanced in a manner that engines can transfer thrust in an efficient manner without destroying the ship, and necessitation an economical usage of materials. This style is very fitting, IMO. The armor looks like it is purpose build - paneled, bright but nonreflective, and sturdy. The accents are still there, just not as "omg turn the gloss to 11" ugliness. It looks like a real object built out of metal, ceramics and composites. As it should. The old Amarr skins looked like gaudy jewlery made of tin and painted with cheap gold paint. TEST Alliance BEST Alliance
