That quote doesn't say anything about there being a next game, just that they believe when they create one, it will be less costly.
I'm sure CCP has lots of ideas for future products, but that doesn't mean they've even begun to narrow them down to anything even remotely concrete.

Wouldn't that be fun in a moa?
Will you be able to climb out of the burning wreckage of you ship as you realise there's air resistance and gravity on planets? Damn those caldari designers, what's so wrong with aerodynamic spacecraft? Why make the moa look like a girafe that swallowed a house?

CCP are a games development company. It is highly likely that they will make another game in future.
How is that such a weird concept?

Yes, but that doens't mean that they've got anything more than some vague ideas. Stuff like, "Hey, maybe we should do another space game," or "Nah, I think we should do something with cars."
There's a long way to go between saying "We're gonna develope new games," and actually having a game in development with any sort of specifics that can be released to the public.
Look at how so many games, Fable is a good example, or even better yet, DNF, or, *cough*, Shiva, have been hurt from over hyping them before there was actually something there to show off. If CCP's smart, they'll wait until they have concrete examples of the game, like actual screenshots, and a semi-working engine before they make any big announcements beyond, "We're working on our second game. More info to come."

What he said.
Other than that, we're all EVE. We have a concept brewing, but as has been stated in various interviews, that's seperate teams, EVE team is still growing and will continue to do so. Heck, we're up to 55 already _____________________________ "There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. Eve-TCG = Eve Trading Card Game.
I read somewhere that CCP was cooperating with...Wizard Of the coast, if I remember correctly, to make some sort of Eve in Magicland or Magic on Eveland, or whatever.

No, you are seriously way off there
We are doing a TCG with ourselves.
We are doing a Graphic Novel with ourselves, the main writer having worked amongst other things on WotC titles. _____________________________ "There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?" |

I'd LOVE to see some sort of Command & Conquer game based on the Eve Universe or, even better, a Halo-esque Eve-baed FPS on stations/planets.

It would be nice if EVE 2 would be like Elite Frontier or First Encouter in MMOG level. Mmmm imagine owning a station around planet and people trying to dock it and blowing up ^_^
EVE currently does not remind me about Elite in anyway. There wasn't any gankers and gate w***es spoiling my game. Pirates sure but at least you could do something about 'em.

Edited by: x racer on 30/09/2005 12:21:06 I expect CCP to come up with a concept thats as new and different as EVE is from all other MMORPG's.
The Devs have continually impressed me with their big thinking.
I would be dissapointed with an EVE spinoff, though I understand the business side of such a decision.
But I also expect it to stay in the space genre as the Devs seem to be a bit space crazy to me.
Just some thoughts, x racer
Question for Oveur: Is the Will Wright "Spore" concept influencing the direction of EVE or the new effort in any way?

The EVE TCG will be previewed at the FanFest. I believe the marketing department is holding on to the release date for the preview.

Edited by: Original Prankster on 30/09/2005 12:29:27 Stick with the original for mmo, making eve2 would split the current playerbase :(
its seen before *cough* everquest *cough*
anyways EVE still has room for alot of improvement :)
but could still make some space FPS games with the eve cencept, singleplayer/multiplayer just not another mmo okay? :)
