Ah, there's the problem then. Version 1.32 is the current EVE Launcher. The new one we're testing requires you to install it (please read the first post in this thread, detailing this). As such, you're logging into the new landing page, and expecting the old EVE Launcher to magically know what to do with the credentials. This doesn't work, which is why you're having to do it twice. For your information: After your useful feedback and some additional in-house testing we could reproduce the instability issues with the downloading and updating. We are going to release a new beta version of the launcher at some point tomorrow which is going to address these issues. Senior Programmer Team Special Circumstances |

I don't care how much work it takes. Don't release it until it's ready, and unless it can remember usernames it isn't ready. |

From the unsupported OS (32-bit) with wine:
The installer threw an exception but launcher came up on when I ran it. Links in installer seemed to work, and I could log in on front page but the status bar froze at 100%, and the play button did nothing. A second try gave an error on loading server info - same as After Shok had reported
I did check the launcher_old to verify the install was ok, logged in normally. Log file was rather large, pastebin choked on it.

Only two things I really dislike about the new launcher layout (should be platform Independent, but I'm using Windows 8 x64):
- The "PLAY" button appears clickable (including mouseover feedback) while the launcher still validates/patches. It just doesn't react to clicking, which can be confusing if you don't know about this fact.
- When asking for the character name, the button to proceed is on the right, where it's rather common to have the button to proceed on the left and the button to cancel on the right (unless we're talking about back/Forward in a wizard style application). This is really confusing to me. Looking for more thoughts? Follow me on http://twitter.com/Aethlyn |

Your log looks like it's trying to modify some other directory to be honest and somehow getting confused by those weird directory names (those escaped in the log). Not sure that's something wine specific though. Looking for more thoughts? Follow me on http://twitter.com/Aethlyn |

We've just deployed a new version of the launcher which should address a lot of issues people have with downloading and updating. It also speeds up a lot of things. However, since there are also changes to the website required that is running in the launcher, then there might be some intermediate hick ups until that is deployed, most notable you won't be able to start the client. But rest assured, this should be resolved shortly. I'll keep you posted. Senior Programmer Team Special Circumstances |

Hi,
the download link should be working now. Also the new website was deployed so the Play button should work nicely.
What exactly is not working with the old launcher, though? Senior Programmer Team Special Circumstances |

The old version was not downloading the latest path, so I couldn't connect. It may have been linked wth the website change.
Just installed the latest launcher version and seems to work fine. Currently updating the client, also I hope that in the future the ammount of resources needed for the updates will be recuced.
Thank you :) |

Hold on, now that I've actually been able to boot up the main game, I have a couple of questions:
1. Are you serious? I can't log in multiple players at once with this launcher. I have to log out an account to log another one in. Did you consider how many people dual box or triple box multiple instances of Eve? I can't do that with this setup.
2. Are you going to fix the above? Because if you don't you will get a huge backlash...
3. Shouldn't it be designed to accomodate multi-boxers, instead of making it harder to multi-box?

I think the launcher updated for me without showing any progress. The progress bar just stayed grey, then the launcher disappeared and didn't reappear (no process running anymore). Had to start it a second time (Windows 8 Pro x64; "C:\Spiele\Eve Online (Singularity)\eve.exe /server:87.237.38.50"). The new Version is 2.1.531588-beta.3. Looking for more thoughts? This new launcher is pretty obnoxious for using multiple accounts - with the old launcher, I could usually push the return key three or four times before my first client would start, so I wouldn't have to screw around alt-tabbing clients and such. Now, it seems I'm going to be forced to alt-tab back, /click/ log out, log in again, press play, alt-tab, etc. Ugh. So many more actions for a similar result.
So, two questions:
Is this it for the new launcher? Is there going to be no work to make it easier for those of us with multiple accounts (i.e. a good chunk of people who play this game)?
Is this mandatory or will the old launcher continue to work after this is deployed to TQ? |

I've been using it for a day or so and from what I can tell the One Log in thing doesn't work. Besides that the UI is kinda bugged. The ratio for the bottom and top bar are different then the middles which contains the news and One Log in thing (What the hell do I call this thing.) This makes the top and bottom bars extend farther then the middle section and nearly cuts off the Eve Retribution logo. You can't even see the "Online" words under the Eve.

The new version (2.1.531588-beta.3.win32) worked on my setup - Linux kernel 3.88 (32bit), wine 1.5.29 with a couple minor hiccups: Installer worked without any exceptions this time, but brought up an unresponsive launcher. Restarting launcher gave the same error -7 url not found for the login, as I got with the earlier version, but at the same time the patcher proceeded normally, though I thought the patching part was rather slow. considering the install is on an SSD, and the recent tranquility patch though somewhat larger (700 meg vs 500) went much quicker. Download speed was perfectly fine though. Restarting again after patching I was able to log into SISI successfully, as the login appeared correctly. I used the following syntax:
wine /home/luser/.wine/drive_c/EVEtest/eve.exe --args "/server:87.237.38.50" "/log:debug"
It still seems a bit clunky compared to the normal launcher, but it does function. |

Just to check, is this what the new Sisi launcher is supposed to look like?
http://i.imgur.com/U6hKkhZ.jpg
Also once I log in there, the play button that appears where the login boxes were is grayed out. I can still use the PLAY button at the bottom left, but then once the client launches I have to log in like normal.

ty ty ty for putting Patch notes link back on it !!!! I always had to go and remember where they were....it is much more helpful having it on the launcher.
I must admit I also liked the drop down to find the forums and other eve sites, i notice that this was no longer present.
just my 2 cents

I guys I have 7 accounts and I use the same launcher and client to launch them all, do you mind not making me put the password in the launcher and go back and forward doing logout/login in the launcher to launch a client.
Save all login profiles (username/password) so we choose one from a list and press apply.
If any browser allows us to save usernames / passwords information, why can't the launcher or Eve Client do the same? Test 1, 2, 3... |

Noriko Mai wrote:After login and startup of the client it show me:
Bad Address "Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong."
It shows me that the server is Singularity and 115 Players are online at the bottom. But there is no way to connect. I get the same error again and again.
I had the same problem. i resolved it by making a new shortcut on my desktop, adding /server:87.237.38.50 in the shortcut/target area.
C:\Program Files (x86)\SISI\EVE\launcher this is my new launcher path
it works good but i think the overall idea is not good for anyone who has more than 1 account. I d have to tab log out, enter the username and password for each of my accounts, which is alot more work than we have now.
Atm i just start the launcher and click play for how many clients i want to bring up. Enter the information needed and voila.
A suggestion: Add a button more if we want to launch the client only without being immediately logged. It is very hand for multiaccounts. LF CSM8 candidate. Are you what lowsec needs? --->-átinyurl.com/afaawrb
