So I am working on one of the initial exploration missions. I used probes and found the special container I was to find. But it tells me that I need a civilian scavenger to open it. I never got one and there are none in the market for sale. All the other scavengers that are available I dont have the skills for. Does this mean I have to train it up to complete this mission?
That seems odd to me. Or is there some other venue other than the market to procure a civilian scavenger, which I assume does not require any training to use? |

I had this bug as well, if it is one. The solution for me was to train to use a regular salvager. It doesn't take that long and you can run the other tutorial agents in the meantime.
Else, petition it or buy the mission item off contracts. |

Tutorial agents not giving required items is one of those random bugs that happens occasionally. As the guy above says you can complete the mission using a normal module, you can buy the skill and the module through the market. A war hasn't been fought this badly since Olaf the Hairy, High Chief of all the Vikings, accidentally ordered 80,000 battle helmets with the horns on the inside. |

well the skill book was selling for like 999,999 ISK, I'm new and only have about 100k, guess I'll work on the other missions to get some $$ and knock it out.

Hi,
As already stated, we're having some issues with tutorials opening and the worst part of this is the way it affects our new players. We do apologize for this. We are looking into it and hopefully will have a fix in the near future. In the meantime, here's a workaround:
The tutorial that should have opened in your case is called "Magnetometric Sites".
To open it manually, hit the F12 key to open the help menu. Open the "Tutorials" tab. From there, open the category "Exploration". The tutorial can be found in that group.
Once opened, the tutorial will give you the items you need (Civilian Salvager and Civilian Analyzer) as well as instructions on how to use them.
Again, sorry about this. Hopefully that workaround gets you back on track again, though. Note that you can follow the same steps to open other tutorials if needed.
We're also just a petition away if need help at any point. |

This.
Let's hope CCP fixes the many problems. We need more new players in EVE so us NCQA people can keep helping new players.
Also...when you get stuck in a tutorial mission. You can always petition CCP. CCP has in the past shown that they are very willing to reset a mission completely for you if you are a new player in the tutorials. When a WoW player leaves to return to WoW, the avg. IQ of both games rises. Professional Forum Thread locker. |

Wow, thanks for this!
I spent 4 hours trying to figure out why I wasn't getting modules I needed. I'm an old player, but I decided to do the tutorials for the first time with an alt (and see what kind of stuff I should know about which I don't).
So if I do that f12 option I will be able to get the civilian modules I need?
Do you know if you need to drop the current agent mission or anything like that? I've already missed the bonus, but I don't care, I just wanna finish all the tutorials, hehe. |

Hi. I'm having trouble completing the tutorial also. I did the f12 thing and got the items I was missing. But now ill get a 100% reading and warp to a gravimetric site but there will be nothing there. Am I missing something? |

Are you sure there is nothing there?
Check your overview settings, click on the little lines symbol top left of the overview to open up the settings. Set up a tab that shows everything and then look for the mission can or an acceleration gate to use.
If there really is nothing there it sounds like a bug, so F12 and petition a GM for a mission reset. |

When You accepted the gravimetric mission you also got a "access token" in your inventory. Looks like a blue ball. Yo u must bring this with you on the ship or the place will be empty. If I remember correct, this will cause an acceleration gate to be present. Also if you find a magnetronic site bookmark it you will need it after |
