Hi all ... A little idea ... All people i see on the game tell me ' F$*¨^king skill time training ' The idea is ... why not buy 1 Million isk each hours ... so you lose money and not alot time. I think that can be interressant ... CCP must then made a new service in station , 'Training Room' you go on the room give isk and your actual training skill will train some hours in less than a second. Same as 'Matrix' ...
Or have anyone found a better idea for this ... i have look for search service on the forum , i have found nothing
Regards.
The isk be whith you :)

Bad idea.
Players who play for a long time actualy have a lot of ISK, so they can easily create another character, give him money and boost his skills.
Nice to see 1 day character with skills at lvl 5 :)

I think this is the same reason we don't have boosters yet. Though I really hope we dont have to wait too much longer for them.

Afaik boosters require skill biology and sciene. So they are like implants.

not too bad as long as pirce is high
at 1mils an hour it will cost a bil isk to get 41days training, so would cost near 9bil to start a noob and train him to standard of 1 yr old
maybe a better idea might be to allow condensation of skills, kinda like ME on BPOs, some sort of reserch the book so at the end it takes less time to train
the 10% of BPs seems fair but 20% ftw :)

not a good idea for several reasons.
with the amount of isk being sold on ebay a little rich kid would easily gain an advantage over everyone else very fast. do you want to let roman abramovich running around eve doing whatever he wants??
hellll no.
tbh eve is the only game i know where you dont have to play to train. that means people who work all day dont lose out in terms of ability over those that dont work. allowing the rich to learn faster than the poor would be wrong.

Go and play an instant gratification game if you think this kind of idea will benefit EVE.

They are and they aren't... they require skills like implants, but they also wear out. So the more wealthy players will be able to afford the best of them and constantly use them. True newbies would not have that option, and boosters are supposed to give up to a 10+ to one attribute at a time, that's a big difference.

IMHO the more skill points you have, the more it should cost to buy this time. Otherwise the richer get richer and the poorer are left so far behind that you create a void between the levels of gamers that can't be breached.

I don't like it. I don't want to be left behind because I'm not willing to drop cash on ebay for isk to train skills.
But this made me think of something... What if you could research (mentioned above) a skill, make it faster to learn, or provide a .01% bonus per level of research. That would turn skill books into a commodity. The current skill books would stop being spawned. And you could add a system where researchers can spawn a skill book from their character. IE, you have to have the skill at level 1 minimum to spawn a new book from it. And the higher level the skill, the better the book starts out (lower time, higher bonus).
It would require massive rebalancing. But it turns skills into a commodity, which they aren't now. Since the price is more or less stable, and you can get almost any skill at almost any school station.

I like the idea, it just needs to be capped or have an exponential cost curve.
The rate could also be scaled based on the current number of SP. Who wouldn't sacrifice a little isk for a training or attribute boost?

you dont need uber sp to do something good, tbh if you specialize character for a specific tasks all you need is about 4-10 mil sp, nothing more. the key is to specialize, not to create uber jack of all trades wich at end becomes unusable due to werry extreame costs (clone, implants etc)

Edited by: mimik on 05/10/2005 08:55:45 if this ever was made available it would be the worst thing that ever happened to EVE.
the only thing that stops an influx of griefers using suicide alts is that it takes time to develop ur character initially to the point where u could effectively run amok killing people.
if u allowed people to buy sps then this would mean u could almost instantly create a character with sufficient skills for this purpose. in a game where the death penalty is so high this would be a huge problem.
unfortunatley the newer players who suggest or support these ideas to cut corners never have enough knowledge of the game dynamics to appreciate how big a problem this would be.

Hmmm ... My first idea give more problem than solution 1st problem is that the rich new player can buy isk on ebay and make a 27Mi sp in less than a hours. The 2nd problem is that new player never learn all about the game if they 'buy' the training time. The 3rd problem ... old player have lot's of isk ( some of this ) Then why not make a skill that you can train only when you have 3 or 4Mi sp reached ?? This skill will give the ability to train other skill 100 to 500% faster you where tell me about the player wo have train more than 10 or 20Mi sp .. Hmmm ... i dont have solution for these ppl But we need found anything to speed up this skill training ...
The isk be whith you :)
