You should have seen the reaction when DUST University got AWOXed in a Planetary Conquest battle. The DUST University leadership, mostly with EVE backgrounds, had a good laugh over it, but it was quite a wake-up call for the CoD vets on the public forums when they heard about it.
Cried for days, they wanted it taken out. They were so mad and it was very funny. |

Those care-free players are in for an even bigger rude awakening once the metagaming is in full swing. The Dust-Uni AWOX incident is only an appetizer. Wait until the main course comes in. |

Just Saying
I never owned or used an XBOX. However years ago, I did help with an anti-Microsoft scheme to purchase a lot of XBoxes and cluster them; I donated enough money for the group to purchase 3 or 4 more XBoxes. At the time Microsoft sold the XBOX at a loss and only hoped to dip into profits off of game dev licensing and subscription fees. Selling the devices at a total loss was the only way Microsoft could encroach on Sony and Nintendo. So, by purchasing an XBox and installing Linux on it and using it as a firewall, Microsoft literally lost money with it and a they lost a lot of it.
In any case, a lot of people don't have XBOXes. Hell, I have a PS3, I have a couple of Lego games and Dust 514. Usually I use it to watch BluRay or DVDs. |

Didn't see anyone post this already, so...
Biggest stumbling block with XBox was, I believe, that MS wouldn't let CCP use their Tranquility server; it had to be exclusively hosted on XBL servers. From CCP's perspective, it had to be on TQ. No common ground.

CCP has said no to the Xbox because of paid online mode ... And now Sony does too, I gather that the CCP was in the bone. |
