So I just logged in to add a couple skills to the queue real quick, when I noticed a bunch of "gifts" that needed to be redeemed.
Amongst these gifts : Men's 'Red Star' T-shirt
This in itself was kinda amusing, but what was completely hilarious was the description: " Stand out in a crowd with this crisp, elegant design, (...) while simultaneously having it send a stark message of the celebration of freedom and brotherhood. (...)"
I guess some may be wondering "wait...what is funny about this?"
You see in the real world a red star is a symbol of authoritarian dictatorships like for example the Communist China, that under Mao had a death count that goes up to 60 million. USSR, that under Stalin had a death count that goes up to 20 million, and others like Cuba and Vietnam. All of these quite the opposite of freedom and brotherhood.
I propose as an idea for the next batch: Men-¦s "Swastika" T-shirt. With the description: Stand out in a crowd with this fabulous piece of high tier couture while simultaneously displaying a message of peace and tolerance.
Btw CCP = CCCP ? Very cleaver guys. |

The part I found amusing about that description was the 'stand out' part, considering every account got one... Bienator II: "You can identify eve players by looking at their cars. Since they don't drive what they can't afford to lose."

We just think it means something different, and we are quite possibly doing the reverse here with the red star.

Yeah its a symbol of protection or something along those lines.
Anyway, I hope the OP doesnt decide to unsub over a T-shirt, that would be a tremendous loss to our community. |

Feel free to reprocess this propagandistic T-shirt in enraged disgust. Also please make petition to change Flag of California, because it's clearly symbolizes vicious communist bear marching on green 'Murican soil under evil communist Red Star. This is unacceptable, comrade!

Don't y'all realize we're all mass-murdering immortal demi-gods, hell-bent on destruction, chaos and mayhem, drunk with power and wealthier than entire systems? In the past ten years we've had to have killed billions, maybe even trillions; via missions, incursions, PVP...all those ships and structures teemed with humanity (the squishy, non-immortal kind), even capsuleer ships have crews.
In a way, we're in good company with Stalin and Mao, and perhaps the Red Star is a more fitting symbol for us capsuleers than anything else. Frogblast the Vent Core! When the W'rkncacnter came, Pthia was killed, and Yrro in anger, flung the W'rkncacnter into the sun. The sun burned them, but they swam on its surface. |

I expect that we will soon be seeing red stars more often now that the plans of the Arch-Communist Reagan and his Marx inspired policy of trickle down economics are finally coming to fruition. I did not believe that Comrade Gorbachev was correct when he said that Reagan had enough talent to play a Capitalist, "No" I said, "no one will every believe a famous Hollywood actor could be a Conservative." Luckily I was over ruled and Comrade Putin's plan was put into effect and now, 30 years later, I get to see the demise of the western capitalism and the rise of Communist China! ALL HAIL THE STATE!!! GLORY TO THE MOTHERLAND!!! HAIL REAGAN, THE PEOPLE'S HERO!!! |

Beat me to it Sarmatiko, well done. To carve a successful niche for yourself in EVE you need to be able to out sell, out produce, out fight,-á out run, or out wit your competitors. If you can do none of the above, your only option is to complain on the forums that somehow you are at a disadvantage using the exact same tool set-áas the rest of the player base. |
