Season 3 of Enterprise was the only point at which Enterprise became worthy of carrying the Star Trek name. Overall, it was so far below TNG/DS9/Voyager (especially Voyager) you began to wonder who the hell licensed it.

I want Star Trek back, but not if it's some sub-par crap like Enterprise.

ds9 is too much into stupid personal affairs, and is usualy extremely boring. enterprise Ive actuily never seen 0.0

however ds9 is bearable to watch..

and yeah the family guy scene was halarious.

DS9 and the first season of Star Trek (Not ST:TNG) are the only ones I enjoyed.

Voyager had its moments, but too many dull episodes in between. One episode stands out as being especially bad, the one where the crew did nothing but take turns to speak via a communication link to people on Earth. But then I guess all Star Trek series have 'filler' Wink

duno about anyone else but after a hard day i love just coming home chilling out with a cig and a cupa tea and sticking on star trek.

any star trek for me (even voyager) just becus it is star trek i duno why, its just i can put any nasty ****\stresses away when am watching. Just totally imersed.

gota love sky one on sat and sunday's with the 3 hour marathon, and u gota love sky one for keepin TNG running almost 10 years on repeats.

Think Cause and Effect, Yesturdays Enterprise, Relics, Timescape, times arrow pt1 and 2 and Best of Both worlds are the best episodes made.

To be honest, enterprise was lacking, and it seemed that they could never really decided what tac they wanted the show to take. But the show did have one excellent plot line at the end. When they did the evil version I completely enjoyed it, however; that enjoyment may have been born from the state of fatique caused by watching season after season of boyscouts running around on enterprise. After watching characters that were so completely one dimension for so long, watching a second alternate version emerge was infinately refreshing. And the whole zindi bit, ugh, i couldn't wait for that story line to get over, it was like a reverse voyager series and somehow managed to be worse!

Has anyone heard rumors regarding a new show? I would like an exploration of section nine (time for trek to get gritty and more firefly esque. Ya'know sometimes good, sometimes bad where the ultimate objective is what matters) and see how it pans out. Or perhaps a farther in the future version of trek with another nice war afoot. At the end of DS9 i greatly enjoyed the constant tactical combat nature of the show and those nice fleet battles.

Are they really "Boldly going where no one has gone Before"?

Next Generation: Boldly stooging around Federation space everyone has been before.
DS9: Boldly sitting where others have been before.
Voyager: Boldly coming back from where others have been before.
Original Generation: Yes. The only one. And only during their initial "five" year mission (before the movies).

Still, I loved all four series (especially Voyager). Very Happy

I also liked Voyager it was my favorite.
But I watched them all.

TNG up to that last two seasons.

DS9 the first two seasons but for me it was meh.

Voyager I missed the first two seasons (thank god).
But Voyager was the only one I most enjoyed also the only one I missed when it was over. For that matter I was kinda ****ed they dropped it for Enterprise.
I mean come on Paris using the holodeck to rebuild a 69 camaro, watch old movies, and do Flash Gordon B&W style C-movie adventures. (Its what I would do..along with pron)
Voyager was kinda closer to the first ST in that everything was new..new races...new tech...new characters. Hell I never thought that a borg could look so damn hot in a skin tight blue bodysuit.
The Voyager series was more about the crew than politics that we had all seen over and over. And even tho a lot of people didnt like Janeway she wasnt overly PC and a wuss like Picard was. Now Riker he would have been my kinda captn.

Enterprise I watched the first two season...but man it sucked (I had high hopes..maybe that was the problem). I heard it got better the 3rd and 4th season?

Here is my impressions of each captain, and how they would react.
Situation: "Captain a Romulan Warbird has decloaked next to us 50 light years from the border zone! They're targeting us!"

Picard: "Open hails ask them what they want, ohh yeah and red alert but dont raise shields, we dont what them to think we may attack. Umm and seperate the saucer section!" /emote Vydek walks over and kicks him in the ballz..hard...twice"

Riker (if he was cptn): "Red alert! Fire phasers enough to drop his shields. Open a hail and tell them they must return to Romulan space immediately!"

Cisco: -has some kind of mystic vison that shows him how to avoi- /emote Vydek changes the channel.

Janeway: "Fire photon torpedos at their weapon systems, target and destroy his cloaking device and open a hail after their disabled and ask them what the hell their doing here."

Kirk: "Raise shields! FIRE PHASERS!!! Dont forget to search thru the wreakage for some of that blue ale." /emote Kirk turns head to look at hot young ensign's butt cheeks hanging outta her short skirt appreciatively. "Ohh yeah ensign, bring that green skinned slave girl to my quarters. And ensign, make sure your wearing something nice also."

PFFF - I enjoyed the written review better.
I downloaded THIS today. It was in german (but it has subtitles) - quite impressive cgi, too.

Hehe - yeah I watched it too :) was very very funny, however it's not German ;) it's in Suomi (Finnish)

Some episodes were good, some were bad and some were bloody aweful. All-in-all though Star Trek was probably the best Sci-Fi series generally speaking, which has ever been produced. Having said that I realy enjoyed the Babalon 5 series, to me they were awesome.

Babylon 5 rocked.

I've heard that the new Battlestar Galactica kicks ass, but I don't have cable (except for internet). I'm a broke mofo.

The new BSG is very good. Only show that will make me turn on the TV. You'll enjoy it if you also like non-ST style Sci-fi.

I missed Bab-5's not even sure how many seasons. because I was watching Space Above and Beyond.
Alot of people didnt like it but for me it was a darker gritty sci-fi. Earth didnt have super tech (no phasers/transporters/1 shot hypos to instantly heal you.)
It didnt have big special effects. It was about a small group of people 'fighting the good fight' all the while earth is getting its ass kicked by the Chigs and A.I.'s you had the feeling Earth was going to loose in the end. And the 86 didnt always save the day...they just did their little part.
(wasnt like ST-in all its incarnations where they saved the Earth/Galaxy/Federation/Universe every episode.)
Then they canceled it...

...and by chance I seen the previews for a Babylon 5 movie. Not even sure what it was called. It was the one where earth first encountered the Minbari and got its asses handed to them...better space battles that even the new Star Wars movies. Watched the whole thing and the encore too.

Been a Bab-5 fan ever since.

I guess I'm not overly fond of the super-advanced almost campy sci-fi tech, maybe its why I feel ST needs a break.

It wasnt a 3rd race..it was just a Chig without armor.

If I remember, what happened was the first 2 settelments earth had were on the Chigs breeding moon. (On the last episode the 86 were in a cave and they encountered a Chig without armor and it was acting scared because they were in an egg brood cave)

It was then that the 86 found out the Chigs were protecting their young and had warned the company that settled the moons, who decided to ignore them and settle there anyway. And thus war.

And the Bab-5 movie was the one where Lando was remembering the past. "In the Begining."

No, actually it was the fact that the Chigs warned the company (areocorp or something) not too invade their privacy with sattelites and stuff, then happened to figure out they were also originally from earth, THAT's why they went to war.

and fairimear saw the before last episode when the 86 THINK that this chig without armor is a 3rd race, just cos the other chigs happen to turn into goo when u try and remove their helmets...

Here's a question for those who dare to think on the possible horror of it: How long before we get the Star trek version of CSI? You know there is some cigarette smoke choked room somewhere in LALA land with people fiddling with the idea.

Just think of it: SSCIS: Kronos. Some grizzled old vet and his ragtag crew, who are all the best in thier fields, figures out if it was just ponfar(sp) gone wrong or was it an maquie assasination?

Or perhaps a COPS-esque show with romulans in wife beaters drunk in the crappy section of the starbase getting hauled away from his andorian wife who's shreaking "he didn't mean to knock my tooth out he loves me! :Burp:"

I miss Star Trek, but I want something good, and as far as I'm concerned, Voyager and Enterprise were duds. It took me a while to really appreciate DS9, but in the end I did really like it, too.

If they're going to do a prequel, why not something along the lines of the original series idea? They could call it Pike's Enterprise, with a young Mr. Spock, female Number One and a less-capable but ever-heroic starship Enterprise.

Meanwhile, there are fan sites out there producing Star Trek episodes. One, for instance:

DS9 got good........when this fella named Ronald Moore starting running the show.....and anyone wanna take a guess as to what show Ronald Moore runs/created......er...re-imagined?

That'd be the new Battlestar Galactica...which in my book exceeds ANY Trek I've ever seen with perhaps the exception of the season 4 Borg Episodes. (that is classic sci-fi by any definition of the word). Picard's "I am Locutus of Borg" bit still sends chills down my spine.

After the cheese transporter ep. in Voyager.....that ended voyager for me. Enterprise? was watchin g stargate sg-1, which at least always has its tongue in cheek tone up front.

Now, if they'd only bring back firefly as a series and stick it prior to Galactica on scfi-friday's, my week'd be complete. Very Happy

Earlier on in life I used to lub star trek in all it forms, but after a while it really grates. All of it seems to be about carebears in space with their pathetic moralistic overtones, utopian society's, do gooding anoyance.

I prefer sci-fi like farscape, babylon 5 and red dwarf as it's more realistic, far more diverse than star treks rose tinted view on the universe.

Didn't see much of enterprise tbh, I think the music killed it for me Razz, that and they always seem to recylcle plot from other star trek franchises. Same story, different era/ship/place.

Nothing will beat Star Trek: TNG in my mind. But Voyager and Enterprise(Every single episode of it, even though the last one ended horribly) are a close second.

Now, DS9 on the other hand.... was something I don't want think about as anything related to Star Trek.

Moore isn't the one just on DS9. There was also Ira Steven Behr (the 4400), Rene Echevarria (working in the 4400 or Medium now I think), and Robert Wolfe (developed Andromeda and working in Threshold now I think). Michael Piller, who did ST TNG and the first few seasons of Voyager, is doing the Dead Zone.

I hate Enterprise by the way. I thought it should have gone away sooner instead of dragging on like it is. Enterprise killed off my interest in Star Trek. Brannon Braga by the way, has moved on to making Threshold for CBS I can't understand why Threshold is so much better, while Enterprise stinked under his helm.

B5 was really great, the dialog especially was the best I've seen in a sci-fi show. In a lot of shows the dialog seems to be limited to 'what I'm doing and why', but watching some of the later episodes of B5 you really see a difference in script quality between it and ST.

But however good these series were, the new BSG blows them out of the water IMO. I love the Vipers and how they maneuver in space, first time I've seen a SF show with fighters that maneuver like real spaceships would instead of the old "I can only go forward" ships. I guess B5 did this to some extent with Starfury's but the Vipers are just so much cooler =D Even the tactics used make more sense, like Galactica laying down suppression fire while Vipers pick off any Cylons lucky enough to escape the red carpet of doom coming from Galactica.

I wish it was January already =/

damn i love the connections between that borg episode of enterprise in seris 2 and the Star Trek film first contact. so sweet how it all fits so perfect.

You must admit the connections to how it all fits it sweet, like with how the kligons look more human in the older star trek, love that story link in enterprise.

Well what about Firefly!!
That was just amazing show, bring it back. Couple reasons why:
Tv.com rating: 9.3 / 10
IGN rating 8 / 10 (user rating: 9.5 / 10)
IMDB rating:9.5 / 10

Very Happy

DS9 was the best one they did, more interpersonal with the main cast and much better storyline, gives it a home feeling being a station and not a moving object.
