for weeks we have the issue we cant login in jita especially on weekends. Why dont you raise the player limit or alternatively ban all jita spammer bots so regular players can login and play? |

Bots and spammers are a problem. Support +1.
Course, you could also take your trade toanother system. That also would help alleviate the issue in a more natural way.

I think it'd be neat if a 50,000 ISK CPSA were charged per message in Jita local.
Even at just one message every 4.9 seconds, it'd be an ISK sink of close to a billion per day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTzA_xesrL8 |

Yeah, getting rid of the spambots will be better. Jita is already on a dedicated server node, and a heavily beefed up one at that. Two years ago the population cap was about 1500; a year before that, 1200. Right now it's somewhat above 2k. The limiting factor is server power, and that's been massively improved already. EVE uses multiple servers running separate nodes, integrated through a SSD-RAID database. It's the most powerful gaming computer on the planet, and I believe the largest single network cluster as well (been a long time since I say that last one confirmed though). They had a devblog a while back about their reinforced server node they use for fleet fights- it was some kind of liquid cooled monstrosity that they can't even release the specs on, as a condition for being allowed to use it. Sadly that devblog has been deleted and I can't find a copy of it.

This is, by far, the best "Fix Jita" thread I've read and the suggestion is a good one.
Even the cost per message I like.

Well, there it is again. Removing local would seriously solve another issue there. Totally unrelated to (classic space ship) pvp or cloaky scouts ruining carebear fun in null etc... still it would be another issue solved.

The CSPA charge on local I think sounded like a good idea.
Another fun idea would be to add a voting system of sorts where whenever someone gets enough votes they get thrown out :D |

Their was a forum post about the idea of putting low sec space between the high sec empires. It would solve the congestion problem in jita without any artificial voting system or banning of spam bots.
Now i know everybody hates spammers but the fact that they exist prove that some people are stupid enough to believe them, removing spammers and scammers from eve would make eve easier and that i am opposed on. |

Honestly I do not see the reason to be in jita anyway there are several better working trade hubs that dont spam 2 scams every 10s. Jita local barely ever has any sensible discussion and 90% of the messages are one form of a scam. Which is especially bother some due to you cant effectively filter people and have the same filter on your alt or corp.
But hey there is easy solution remove concord for one day and let people nuke down the station. :p Other discussions: Racial systems balancing and homogenization Bounty contracts |

There were current details in one of the presentations at last year's fan fest. Lots of IBM, and some spiffy SSD from what I recall.

Has this constant Jita is overloaded and you can't go there just become acceptable?
This really effects me as a player when Jita is off limits.
Is anyone looking for a solution?
Does CCP really feel the current situation is acceptable?

Maybe they could add a commodities exchange. Something to the extent of 1 station in every region that has this special service that allows you to see every buy and sell order in all of New Eden. And at these stations can you buy and also place sell orders outside of your current region, which you are currently limited to if you spent the time to train marketing and procurement to 5 anyway. I know Jita is a pain in the ass with the spammers, but I donGÇÖt think itGÇÖs them that are causing it. IGÇÖve sat there at the Perimeter gate waiting to get in and watched the ProvidenceGÇÖs and CharonGÇÖs start stacking up. ItGÇÖs caused by those guys that have 3 or 4 trade alts on at the same time spread out across New Eden buying low and then shipping it to Jita to sell it high and turning a nice 30 to 50 percent profit. If people can see what the buy and sells are in Jita from somewhere on the back side of Devoid or Khanid they are not going to take it in the shorts and just take whatever the local buy order is because they are not sure that eve central has not been updated and waste time hauling it there themselves to find out that that order had been filled. They are going to start asking more for their items. Or they are going to buy them and then have them shipped to them and thatGÇÖs going to cut into the percentage of profit for that guy with 4 trade alts. Maybe he wonGÇÖt be able to PLEX all his accounts then?

Brooks Puuntai wrote:Remove some of the connections to Jita. CCP created the Jita issue, they need to end it. Long before I started playing EVE there was Yulai, if I'm not mistaken. Now there is Jita. If you close it by whatever means, there will pop another trade hub. And of all trade hubs in EVE one will be the biggest and will bring most attention, and the cycle will repeat.
In short, you're proposing a solution to a wrong problem. |
