I put this here instead of the missions' section because I imagine that many of you have worked up npc standings without combat missions.
This is my indy character & I'm grinding up standings for tax breaks with distribution missions...which make me want poke myself in the eye with a dirty stick.
I think that the sweet spot for grinding up standings will be lvl 3's in a nano'd br but getting to that point is what troubles me. Would it be faster to do lvl 2's or blitz lvl 1's for the story line missions in a fast, cargo fit frig?
If my question seems off target then it is proly cause my assumptions are off target. Please correct me and offer tips.
Thank you |

Another question. Do faction standings count toward tax breaks? Would I be better off doing data centers? |

Yes faction standings count to reduce market fees
You can do the data centers as well
The Faction Standing Repair Plan is in the evelopedia and usually on the first page or two of Missions & Complexes for more tips
I've done this on a trade character or two, I would get a hauler, find a station that has 3 - 4 distr. agents and run multiple missions at the same time. It helps if the system is down the end of a pipe as that tends to mean you end up going in the same direction with all your hauling missions.

Train Connections up to III in a day and you should be able to start on L2 agents if you haven't managed to accumulate any standings yet.

I already have connections at 4. I'm working for the Amarr Emporer Family. Thanks for the tip about location. I will look for good system and start on some data centers. Thanks |

Use a cargo-fit and rigged Magnate for doing up to level 3 courier missions.
Nearly all my industrial characters are skilled in some form of combat (example: my mining alts can use drones so pilot drone-boats), or are at least useful in combat (EWAR, Logistics, etc.) I recommend being able to pilot a battlecruiser for all industrialists that are not specialized. Wars happen.

If you will only be trading in stations owned by one corp, it will be a lot quicker to grind standings just for that one corp than to grind faction standings. (Assuming it's a corp that has available agents.)

Both Unmodified Faction and Unmodified Corp standings count. Faction counts more. This is EVE - Everybody Versus Everybody.

I've read more than one post saying that the unmodified standings count toward tax rates but the EVE wiki says that it's its a modified 6.67. So which is it? |

Hes talking about the broker fees. The 6.67 reduces refining tax to 0. |
