Why all the work to make tech2 bships ? We dont even know what role to give them..
I say make named battleships easier to get...
Now that NPC's are getting new equipment n roles.. they are more depended of eachother right? So lets say i kill a spawn and leave one bship - he gets scared and ejects from his named battleship n runs away in his pod. That way named bships will be more common. Which means cheaper to buy, around 250 mill iskies?

T2 BS'es will just be uber, with a pricetag to match, but i do want one
I agree the drop rate of named BS'es could be better they are hardly any Nightmares yet millions of macherals all over the place, im not sure whats wrong here but it seems like a balancing issue is needed, either make the mach rarer or make the other ships drop more frequently.
/Me wants a Nightmare, they look cool

All I want for a tech 2 battleship is one that has a 99.8% powergrid reduction bonus to siege mods. Double the hp's, and less turrets/launchers.
No damage bonus, but nice bonuses to tanking. Fear the Ibis of doom. |

In other words, you want a ship that shoots like a dreadnought, and tanks like a dreadnought.
Why not just buy a dreadnought?

If you do make a t2 battleship, they should be no different from the other t2 ships, same resistances and same % as well. For HP stats, they should be roughtly the same, maybe at most 5% larger on each. Bs already have a large number of slots for weaponry, so little should be done there, as af and hac have several more weapons. For the T2 bs, more leway should be given in the fitting of weaponry, such as a megathron T2 might have 8 gunnery turrets and 3 missile launchers instead of the 7 and 2. In all, I say make these ships as close to the regular bs but with only the assault bonus.

Looks like nobody likes my idea..
chan is right.. tech2's are expensive one time thing after all..

I figured the role of a t2 BS would mainly be to be able to attack a DN without getting pimpslaped down in one volly of fire from said DN. *shrug*

I kind of suspect that role is going to be given to Assault Cruisers, considering their damage output and low signature (when compaired to battleships).
I rather suspect the role of Tech II Battleships is, instead, going to be protecting the Dreadnaught from assault cruisers, considering Tech I Battleships' rather anemic performance against them, in similar numbers.
I can see fleet tactics revolving around getting a strike force of assault cruisers in close to an enemy dreadnaught fleet to kill its core dreadnaught, followed by a dreadnaught cored fleet to nail the enemy battleships, once the main dreadnaught is down.
That would be an interesting battle to participate in.

If you go check the leadership skillpacks, you'll notice something like 'squadron commander' or 'form gang commander' skill pack that boosts all leadership skills about 10% per level.
This is also great if a T2 bs is a fleet commander, with various fleet bonuses. Much better than if an admiral is floating around in a logistics ship... |

But most recently, Devs have said they are taking the Tech 2 Battlecruiser freeing the tech 2 BS to be a nice beatdown ship.
Then just fix dread's seige mode, so EW doesn;t affect it, like it's supposed to be, and everything is still pretty balanced.

I'd rather see tier 3 battleships first (battleship level 4 as skillrequirement seems fair).
Caldari need a railgun platform badly

BS LVL 4? i disagree, BS LVL 5 would be more apropriate.. just like any HAC or AF need cruiser\frigate 5 --- When It Absolutely Positively Has To Be Desotroyed. |

He's talking about a new T1 battleship, not a T2.
