how to by pass errors: create shortcut from repair.exe |||
right click on the shortcut and open properties |||
add this to your launch file/directory to the end of repair.exe |||
(1 empty space) --safemode ||
it will look like this directory/repair.exe --safemode ||
launch the shortcut, after repair go to eve/bin dir and launch exefile.exe
this worked for me and 4 other guys from corp. its been confirmed that this only works with original install dir.. (not copyed&paste game files)

Confirming it works and also that CCP killed the launcher^^

Linkys don't work for me.
Launcher says can't connect check internet, so I am posting here to let you know my internet is fine
Tried the launching it the way someone suggested in post 40 went to bin/exefile at least I got the starter screen but status says incompatible (protocol) . repair tool no help. I don't want to erase the game an reload it an endup with maybe the same problem
I am not real tech savy so this could be the end for me subscribed to thread to get more suggestions |

Hi
Here it wasn't a problem with the client / launcher or some thing else, it was the used Shortcut on the desktop / startmenu.
The "old" Shortcut shows to "...\CCP\EVE\eve.exe". This shortcut get the offline-error.
Replace it to
"..\CCP\EVE\launcher\launcher.exe" /forcelauncher
and it works (here).
For Multi-Client change it for each Shortcut you used for each Client
"...\CCP\EVE 1\launcher\launcher.exe" /forcelauncher "...\CCP\EVE 2\launcher\launcher.exe" /forcelauncher
etc.
This solve here the Offline-Modus-Problem. All Settings for each account and client still here and work.
The Option "/forcelauncher" isn't nessesary, but i'll leave it cause it works so.

But it just gives the option to launch EVE though anyway. To be honest I preferred the old launcher because rather than being able to launch 2 clients at once and THEN log in, you have to "switch character" and then launch it, which is rather annoying. I'm having the same problem, same error message. Can connect to both links, the second one takes ages tho... I suspect the launcher tries calling this file but times out. Same basic prob for me, I can log into that link but play is greyed out and It doesn't seem to be doing anything.
same issue, play botton greyed out |

So far none of the fixes have worked. Launching directly from Exefile.exe starts the client, but gets stuck in an infinite update loop. Even though that patched installed just fine, it keeps repeating it, so I can't log in.
Also, I don't appear to have a repair.exe.
Update: Chribba's update download worked, the game now breaks out of it's update-loop. Haven't tested the launcher yet though. |

I'm sure they need to shut down things to get the new features to work then they'll get it back up and running. Love how much of a big deal everyone makes it when they try to add things. Be patient, go get out of your rooms, do something then come back and play when they get it back up. It's not the end of the world. |

I ran the repair.exe from the EVE folder and it did a few updates for me. I then ran ExeFile.exe from the bin folder in administrator mode and I logged in straight away. The launcher does not work for me. |

Doing that trapped me in endless update cycles. Running Repair.exe then Launching the game from :C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin\exefile.exe has me with a working connection.
EDIT: 33k people logged in so it obviously works for quite a few other people as well.

But I have an important question, if we're logging-in in the launcher with SSO, does this mean no more multi-boxing or am I just being daft? They just made it hilarious "complicated"/annoying to log in multiple accounts. The best solution is, to start eve directly from the /bin folder.
This finally worked.
The new launcher is very poor. Now how long will it take to quit ducking the issue, and just get around to fixing it? |

I was going to ask if anyone was having problems with the new launcher...fifteen seconds later I realised it would be a waste of my typing and your viewing time. I'm considering singing a song at you instead by way of distraction from the general fury.
On the flipside this is an excellent tool for bringing the game more towards real life - now I have to develop my understanding of software operation in order to repair the game and launch. I expect this is exactly the sort of thing that would happen on a real spacecraft and will really sort out the wheat from the chaff. Those that have managed to log in should get an automatic skill of some related manner, perhaps Problem Management or Rig Workaround.
