Launcher on my laptop is now non-functional. Working just a few days ago.
It failed to update today and now is broke.
The update bar at the bottom never shows progress.
Enter password and the "PLAY" button greys out.
When trying to bypass it says incompatible protocol via bin\evefile.exe. When trying to repair launcher it says: NoneType object is not subscriptable.
Please revert this launcher. It has caused nothing but headaches for many many users.
It doesn't matter if it can patch quicker if it can't, you know, launch the game. |

Same problem here. Can download it from folder CCP--->Bin--->Exefile But that do not work, it downloads patch over and over and over again. Repair tool wont work cause it fails after 0,03 seconds from start. I wish i could reinstall game but DOWNLOAD the game files did not work.... it seems every patch fails with launcher. Its nice to loose valuable gametime every week. |

I tried the 1st method however my launcher auto updates from 539169 to the newer broken version. Is there a way to stop this auto update to the launcher so I can continue to use Launcher 539169?
Repair tool fails every time: error: unpack requires a string argument of length 4 Total Runtime: 0h00m04s
Trying to launch from the bin\Exefile.exe displays Incompatible Protocal and downloads an update but then that update never seems to update anything. |

I had the same issue, unable to validate after installing spybot, uninstalling spybot did the trick, thanks. I think it has something to do with the proxy settings in spybot as I couldn't access any internet services after removing spybot until I removed the proxy settings spybot puts in place. |

I've deleted the common.ini and relaunched the client multiple times, but I continue to get this error message. |

EDIT:
Deleted _trinity_dx9_deploy.dll, launched the game again, re-downloaded the patch and all is well.

Hi I was wondering if anyone has an answer to this I am returning to eve and have a different computer from when I origanaly played I try to download the game client and it extracts the files and then hangs with a chinese letter followed by letters D2. I have disabled firewall and tried the offline installer and same thing this is very annoying and any help would be greatly appreciated

EDIT: The AppData folder on OSes other than Win7 will be in different places and the folder names will vary depending on your EVE install location. Edit: Made it a sticky. ISD Ezwal.
If all else fails you can at least start client by navigating to and running the following EXE - CCP\EVE\Bin\ExeFile.exe
that part is not working now, yesterday it was fine, now there is some updte that wont freaking work.

I am also getting this, but when I click and drag across the space where the username & password are supposed to be, the following is revealed:

Cleared the cache of usernames, and the boxes came back.
It then lets me login, but the [Play] button is greyed out, and the progress bar at the bottom is greyed (as if it were waiting for an update). |

Clearing the cached user names worked for me (login boxes appearing the moment the cache was cleared), prior attempts to reset launcher settings did not.
Though did have to restart launcher to get past a greyed out "Play" button. |

You guys keep breaking the launcher, i pin it to my start menu each time, but.......... you keep renaming each launcher shortcut with its actual version...... wtf why? now i cant launch it without renaming the shortcut unique path, and NO ONE has put a patch thread for the launcher updates... |
