The new EVE Launcher was updated on May 21, 2013; further information is available here.
On May 21 we also experienced web server issues (note: the Tranquility server is working perfectly fine) which caused the EVE Launcher to not function properly. Together with the EVE Online: Retribution 1.2.4 patch on the same day we see many complaints about the new EVE Launcher and connection problems to Tranquility. The root cause of all these problems are the malfunctioning web servers - our developers are investigating this problem with top priority.
* In case you have updated your EVE Client to EVE Online: Retribution 1.2.4 (version number 538542), you do not need to launch the EVE Launcher (which might show an offline connection due to above mentioned web server issues) to connect to Tranquility with the following steps:
1) Locate the folder where you installed EVE. If you are not sure where that folder is, see http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/EVE_default_directories 2) From the EVE installation folder, open the folder called GÇ£binGÇ¥ and there you will find the ExeFile.exe 3) Run this ExeFile.exe to start the EVE Online client
* If you have not updated your EVE Client to the latest version, there is unfortunately little we can recommend to do except for waiting until our developers have fixed the situation.
We apologize for this chain of unfortunate and unexpected server issues with the following service disruptions. CCP Phantom - Senior Community Representative - Volunteer Manager |

For those starting the game via Steam; if you're getting an error message when starting the client saying "Sorry there was an error processing your request" with an error code, navigate to the your EVE installation under Steam and run the client directly. The web server issues are fixed and the EVE Laucher should be able to properly update and connect to Tranquility again.

Some people lose all their settings when logging in through the new launcher for the first time.
The settings folder is intact and to re-instate the settings, you need to close the game and the launcher and fire everything up again. Please try this before anything else. CCP Guard | EVE Community Developer |-á@ccp_guard |
