Anyone think that allowing the use of gnosis in the alliance tournament might affect the price?
I know not many are likely to get blown up. But if it's allowed this tourney then it will probably be allowed in future tourneys. Its already been pointed out that it's lack of specialisation means there is always a better ship than the gnosis for a particular job, but the one real advantage the gnosis seems to have is you don't know what you are facing when you see one. This could make it attractive in the context of the alliance tourney - the opposing team can't size your fleet and thus your tactics before the engagement even starts. I expect to see a few teams exploiting this advantage by fielding the maximum 3 gnosis. |

In normal PvP the extra time involved in doing that visual identification may give the Gnosis pilot an advantage, but in AT matches where your opponents have to sit stationary for several minutes while the arena cameras are set up this is not going to be a major concern.
Even if three Gnosis were lost in every match of the AT, it wouldn't make a significant impact on the price. That is a tiny number compared to the number available. However, the popularity of a ship on TQ can be impacted by it's performance in the AT. If the Gnosis becomes FOTM as a result of impressive AT performances then you will see an increase in price.

Considering CCP is issuing 5 run Gnosis BPC's I doubt the price will climb any faster. |

Gnosis is 13 points. Each team can have a max of 100 points on the field at a time using up to 12 pilots in a double elimination tournament format, 127 matches.
So, max of 14 gnosis per match, assuming each one is blown up that's 1778 for the entire tourney out of 500,000 active subscribers, we'll assume 10% were not redeemed, so 1778 out of ~450,000.
Probably won't make much of a dent in supply. |

It's a max of 6 gnosis per match - 3 max per side. One of the rules is you can't have more than 3 of the same named ship.
I think we can take it as a given that the destruction during the tourney numbers will be irrelevant compared to the number in circulation. The big alliances have deep pockets too, we have seen much rarer ships worth many tens of billions fielded in tourneys already. So they won't be in rush to save a few measly millions.
I can see them being a good all rounder for the tourney though - they have tons of slots, fair defences and generous for drones. Bad Bobby I thought your analysis was good, although I still think there's room to hide your hand a little compared to the almost instantaneous read a ship list normally gives. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. |

It has been only weeks since Gnosis has been introduced. With so many Gnosis issued, it is most likely that once this preexisting hype about being a part-Jovian ship settles down, the price will decline further.
I envision it selling at 30M-40M in a month or so.
Also, these anniversary ships make the worst investible-collectible items in EVE because of the disconnection between the marketing department and actual gameplay department and their penchant use of using these ships for future marketing promotions.
If I were you, I would sell em before the price decreases further. |

The Gnosis has something very unique going for it besides being Jovian. It's a zero requirement battlecruiser. Every two day old noob who can afford a PLEX and wants to sit in a battlecruiser is going to want a Gnosis. |

Depends what the BPC says it costs to build one.
As yet, I haven't seen any materials numbers on reprocessing either -- so still a mystery as to it's build value.
And if it's allegedly a Jove or Jove-derived hull, I suppose it's possible there might be some unexpected materials requirements to build new ones.
Or not.

If I were you, I would sell em before the price decreases further. I'm holding on to these ships for a few years, thus minor price fluctuations do not concern me. I do not think the price will hit 30-40m, though it would be great if it does, as I'll buy twice as many :)
There are issues with 'limited' items being re-released later on. With the Gnosis there are likely to be at least 50k added with the collector's edition (presuming 10k box sales), which will increase the total number by about 10%, and may not effect the price more than this figure. Most of these additional 50k should be in the system by the end of this year, by which time we should have a clear idea of what the ship is really worth (in fact we should know in October when the BPCs are released).
Thus, the price may start to steadily increase in the new year, and continue to increase for the next few (presuming a number of presumptions). Thus at best, I hope for the price to double in a year. May take two. I'll probably hang on to my stock for a few more, till CCP screw up my plans by opening up Jove space :) Happiness is a warm gun, mama. |

Wouldn't it be great if the build cost ends up as 150m, or if manufacturing requires the Advance Weapon Metamorphiser module that can only be salvaged off the wrecks of other Gnosis? What is all this talk about Gnosis blueprints? Are BPOs or BPCs being added to the game for the Gnosis later?

At 150 euros a pop, no, I don't think they're going to sell even close to 10,000 of them. |

I just thought I'd err on the side of caution, as 10k imho seems like the upper limit of interest in this item.

+ Good analysis of noob needs and good psychology. Emhnaced slightly by the free repairs it gets.
- Noobs are usually not wealthy. Noobs who are noob alts of wealthy players are unlikely to need to run lvl3 missions asap on the noobchar... |
