if they go by language usage, that's not likely to happen anytime soon i'm afraid it's currently translated only to english, german and russian, with an upcoming japanese translation and looking at this thread: http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1458477 the spanish speaking player base is rather small, i'd expect other languages to come sooner |

Spanish is the most widely spoken language in the world. I can't believe they don't have a Spanish vision yet |

not to say that i'm against it, just that it's probably not the most important thing on their mind right now |

Customer Demands creates results,
If you are a good spanish translator they probably could hire you for localization. |

Hello Lord Vampiire,
Adding new languages to EVE Online has been a lengthy process in the past, and so at the moment we only support English, German and Russian (with Japanese to follow soon). However, we are constantly looking at introducing new languages into the mix and Spanish might eventually join this list too.

you would probably get more spanish speaking players if the client was available in spanish.
the same would go for portugese as a sizeable portion of south america also speak portugese. Everytime you buy something that says "made in china" you are helping the rising unemployment in your own country unless your from china, Buy locally produced goods and help create more jobs. |

You learn English at school any ways because English people are too silly to learn Spanish or any other language (some of them also have issues with their own language).

You can't imagine how many Spanish people refuse to play EVE because they don't understand the complex and too technic language used. Translating the game to Spanish would bring thousands of new players, and if you don't get it, I'm sorry, but you don't know anything about international offer and demand.
And if you don't have enough money to hire some Spanish translators, let the Spanish players help you translating EVE. Easy as pie |

Plss CCP, why don't you let players create localized versions of the client? Let us create volunteer groups for localization and we will deliver. We're not asking (not me, at least) you to support new languages, but let us players contribute to offer the client in new languages. I've contributed to the localization of lots of opensource proyects and it is easy if you have the right tools. Offering the client, EVE would target a much larger potential player base. It's akward, but I know people which have a reasonable understanding of written english that don't play complex games if they're only in English because the extra effort it takes them.
In Short: let players volunteer to create unsupported localized clients.
Thanks. |

Valid point, but there is a huge spanish gaming community here in the western hemisphere which if CCP markets to them correctly, they would get alot of new sub's. CCP should make this a priority just on that point alone, my 2 cents.
