So now that the blockade runners have been equipped with their unscannable holds for a while, has anyone noticed a difference in how often they are ganked? Are they even used now? Are people still auto-piloting them in high sec? If so, are they ganked more than before? Less than before? No difference? |

Just in case anyone argues the probe changes its not making it easier, just less tedious. You should be notified if someone quotes your post so you can continue the argument! |

It is a good question though..
I'm just coming back to the game... my orca won't do what it used to
I loved blockade runners for many reasons ... the auto pilot back empty was one perk because of their speed.
It seems to me they might be more dangerous to fly as "mystery grab bags"...

People stil gank them but it seems to be less, cause its kinda of a gamble of surprise, you'll never find out how much profit you made until you see the killmail
Besides that the blockade runners are quite fast transport ships, catching them is hard I would say.. |

Also, damn forums ate my post. Games down, forums suck... CCP YOU'RE FORCING ME TO GO TO THE PUB. My hangover tomorrow is YOUR fault. After the patch we're giving the market some gentle supply restriction, like tying one wrist to the bedpost loosely with soft silk rope. Just enough to make things a bit more exciting for the market, not enough to make a safeword necessary. -á-Fozzie |

I use my BR constantly. I've had multiple gank attempts. None successful. If you have the right fit, you can survive most attempts. of course if it's multiple ships trying to gank you in a fleet it'll happen. But I've yet to have that issue. "Insert witty quote from some old dead poet here" |

I'd say BRs are not necessarily at the forefront of a ganker's mind, there are many many more easy tickets out there.
...and if BR pilots are being blown up, they're doing it wrong!
I will say however, that since the introduction of unscannable holds I regularly carry cargos worth 20b+ but I no longer auto-pilot home with an empty hold ...just in case some bottom feeder tries a gank.
I'd hazard a guess and say other BR pilots are now carrying much more valuable cargo, but without the surety of a ship scan I'm guessing most gankers don't really like the gamble ...what with them liking only [INSERT SUITABLE WORD] kills.
Fly safe. o7 Its broken and its been broken for a long time and it'll be broken for some time to come. |

It would have been nice if you for example could see the number of items in cargo when you scan it, but not exactly what. That way you know if it is 0 that it's empty and not valuable to gank.
But meh, I still think they put it on the wrong transport type. |

All this change did was to make hisec autopiloting more inconvenient for the fastest hauler out there. BRs were good for hauling low-value stuff quickly, but now you cannot, since possibility of gank is much higher with the loot pinata's paper-thin tank.
It was a pretty poor change, and it should have been made to DSTs. |

The original plan was to allow purchasing of contraband only in face to face meetings in stations. You would no longer be scanned by NPC's at all, and it would be up to other players to scan you for contraband, and flag you as a criminal if you had contraband and refused to turn it over/pay the fine.
They ditched that plan when they ditched WiS.
They intended to make the game much less safe, but the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

When I say 'I' I'm referring to one of my many alts, this char just sits in (S-EVIQ) null waiting for fleets, feel free to drop by.

I don't see why they felt this was needed. The ship is unscannable anyway when its cloaked. |
