i don't like the jump animation either.
it's the forced camera swing i dislike, not the jumping itself. I find it annoying after a short while. Especially if traveling with more than one client.

For me, the camera swing is a mild annoyance; it is the tunnel effect itself that causes problems. So again, it seems like the only way for CCP to successfully address all issues is an option to turn it off. Why a switch on/off? Because the new animation doesn't add anything to gameplay and it's graphically annoying. In other words, it's worse than bad: it's useless. Simple as that.-á-á-á-á-á - Kina Ayami |

Im sorry I didnt read all those 70 pages.. and Im sure I wont be able to contribute anything new that has not been said already... but.. CCP seriously.. any of you ever been on a roam? Or maybe a few roams for a few hours on a weekend?
Now add Tidi, which we are having plenty of with just 100 or 200 in system.. and you stare at that tunnel.. and it wont go away.. and you hate it.. and at some point, you force yourself to not look on your damn screen anymore whenever you hit the jump button, because its giving you a headache
thats how I feel about your warp tunnel. much love Enthropic
P.S. It would be a welcome addition, if you made it OPTIONAL. |

This pretty much sums up why this animation sucks so much. I need to add i want an option to switch off the scan sweep, too. zitti kitillabi billabi billabi zikko di zakkobam fisch kitti bisch |

Not related to Eve Online, but it seems that the new IOS 7 update for Ipod & Ipad generate some motion sickness (nausea, etc.) because of the new animations that it offers: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5322295?start=0&tstart=0
This is the official Apple forum it seems, and I found the link while reading a french IT news website who related this case. It is similar of the topic we are in. So there are people who ask for an option to disable them, and morons who suggest to move away the eyes if not saying that the whiners just hate the animations for no reason...
I wonder what will follow... Will Apple apply the "CCP/HTFU style" or will they give more options ?
So, CCP, if you read this, any comment ? With the NGE, I'm sorry about the mistake we made. We screwed up and didn't listen to the fans when we should have, and it's not a mistake we're going to make again. - John Smedley, president of Sony Online Entertainment. CCP should do the same... |

As we all know, a single personal observation is certainly the best proof of any statement.
Now, quickly, can you describe how will an OPTION to turn a visual effect off (or on) will impact YOUR GAME.

A very informative post.
Those here who think that people who get motion sickness "invented" this, go visit the thread. Of course, there are many more iOS users than people who play EVE, and lo and behold - the linked thread is 34 pages long. Incidentally, no trolling or HTFU there. Maybe because these guys actually paid a lot of their iDevices.
For the record, I have a 4s and an iPad 4, both with iOS 7, and these animations are not affecting me. CCP's jump tunnel does, unfortunately. |

Anyway, are you mad about something that other people are requesting itt? You should be. It really would affect your game a lot. An on/off button for all these effects would ruin your game. You would be unable to find it and turn it on. Or, if the default state was on, having other people find it and turn it off on their clients would greatly affect the experience on your client. So, keep posting. Thanks |

Closing your eyes every 40 seconds for 8 seconds is not a pleasant experience.. and games are suppose to be pleasant.
Let me propose you that every time you click on a module on your ship the screen changes for 3 secodsn into a VERY gross part of one of the famous ultra gross videos you can find in the internt. WOudl you like that? |

So in general there is no on/off switch. And for what? To the bring it back?? 10%* of the players!! That's is losing presorts time with nonsense addons. Go cry in a corner and stay there QQ.
And for the record what you post I can post. There is no different losing a argue is not a shame **** happens even in eve forums.

That's right, it's been four months since this "feature" launched, and it's still causing problems for players.
So CCP, how's that "improvement" coming? Are we going to get any kind of status update anytime soon?
If not, then maybe you should really reconsider this whole off switch thing... Why a switch on/off? Because the new animation doesn't add anything to gameplay and it's graphically annoying. In other words, it's worse than bad: it's useless. Simple as that.-á-á-á-á-á - Kina Ayami |

Johan Civire is wrong and he knows it. The "fake image" is very similar to the "past year" graphic available on EVE-Offline. The difference is that the "fake image" don't count from zero, making the graph more self-explanatory...
Of course, the problem reported on this topic is not the only reason of the dip of logged accounts, and it is probably only a very small part of it. Still, I had two accounts, now one, and in one month (I decided to stay until I use my last plex), none.
And fact is, motion sickness is a reality and whatever the "tough" guys can say, denying it is a bad idea. CCP has difficulties to blast the 30K-logged trap that Eve is since the last five years. It is not by sending players screw themselves for no reason or stay silent that CCP will success to finally leave it. Especialy as it seems that new competitors are coming in 2014 (I look forward to them, as CCP don't give me the choice). With the NGE, I'm sorry about the mistake we made. If people like you keep this threat just open for trolling the sh*t out of this threat. The answer is already be answer stop trolling. Your post is filled with run-on sentences, misspelled words, and general grammatical errors. However, English may not be your first language. So all of that could be overlooked. But, the argument you are trying to assert in your post has fallen into an all too common tired new tactic of weak argumentation.
A few posts ago you pulled statistics out of your ass in an attempt to support your position. Now you resort to calling anyone that disagrees with you a troll. And, you think somehow repetition of your accusation lends it weight. It does not.
Simply put, there are players that are negatively affected by the new jump and autoscan changes. The negative effects range from annoyance to vertigo and nausea. They are demanding an on/off button in the client if CCP wants to keep them as paying customers. This on/off button will not change your experience of the new "features." If you like them you will be able to continue to enjoy them. So really, why do you care and post itt?
Anyway, thanks for the bump. And while I hope you do stop posting, somehow I think you will not be able to follow through on your threat to abandon this "threat." Be seeing you. o/// |

Well, CCP always provide the most important features with expansions, so we can hope to see some options or anything else with Rubicon. We just have to keep the pressure, a reason why I still didn't leave (can't post when unsubscribed).
But I wonder if recently about gaming developement, the idea to give options to the users become a taboo. For exemple, Maxis said today that they can't permit the construction of bigger cities in Simcity, because "the majority of the players won't be able to play on, not even load, a bigger city".
Sure that if everyone must have the same capacity without getting the choice to refuse it, then it can't be done. A Core2duo can't rivalize with a Core I7... But if they offered some... damn it is a taboo, I can't say it... oh well whatever, OPTIONS (or specific maps with different city sizes, whatever the way to do it) they would be able to give this capacity to the players who have a good computer, while the others ones still keep their ability to play with a lower computer by building a standard city.
The refusal of the idea of offering options can only alienate the players. With the NGE, I'm sorry about the mistake we made. We screwed up and didn't listen to the fans when we should have, and it's not a mistake we're going to make again. - John Smedley, president of Sony Online Entertainment. CCP should do the same... |
