Ok, The ship setups sticky really needs to have a "prophet for level 3 missions setup" thread in it so I have decided to make it starting with my "Low SP, and cheap" and "High SP, and VERY Exspensive" NPC Missions setups. Mind you they both can handle level 3 missions, but the lesser requires about 750k SP in Combat skills, the greater requires a lot more lol. Both need to use med drones against frigs. Which armor Hardeners you pick depends on which NPCs you fight. Refer to this thread for which damages different NPCs do
Low SP, and Cheap: Aprox. Cost: 2,354,000 Interstellar Kredits (Fitting: requires Electronics IV)
High 6x Focused Medium Beam Laser I 1x Rocket Launcher I (defender missiles, and anti frig)
Medium 1x 10mn Afterburner I 1x Cap Recharger I 1x Target Painter I
Low 1x Medium Armor Repairer I 2x Cap Power Relay 3x Armor Hardeners(If you have high BC level than switch one to another CPR)
===================================================================
High SP, and VERY Exspensive (Fitting: Engineering 5, Weapon upgrades 5, and Advanced Weapon Upgrades 4) Aprox. Cost: 70,487,000 Interstellar Kredits (another 15m if you get a TL2 Cap recharger)
High 6x Heavy Modulated Energy Beam I 1x Arbalest Rocket Launcher I
Medium 1x 10mn Afterburner II 1x Cap Recharger I(if you have an extra 15 mill you can get a TL2) 1x Target Painter II
Low 1x Medium Armor Repairer II 2x Cap Power Relay I 2x Armor Hardener II 1x Heatsink II
Please comment and post your Missions setups too.

Ah im touched, anyway i used something like this for the proph and missions back in the day.
6 Heavy Pulse II, 1 Arb Rocket launcher (could probibly fit a heavy with advanced weapons upgrades now). 1 10mn Ab, 1 Webby, 1 cap charger II 1 Med Rep II, 2 CPR I, 2 Hardners (T2), 1 HS II
not sure how much that will all cost, but hey.
I personally like Pulse lasers as they make a cool "thud ud ud" sound but hey its personal choice really

Hi: 4 heavy modulated pulse energy beam (multi crystal) 1 medium modulated pulse energy beam (multi crystal) 2 medium nosferatu II
Med: 1 medium afterburner II 1 fleeting propulsion inhibitor I 1 cap recharger II
Low: 2 heat sink II 2 active armor hardners 1 medium armor repairer II 1 capacity power relay
or
Low: 1 heat sink II 3 adaptive nano II 1 medium armor repairer 1 capacity power relay 5 medium drones.
These two setups allow me to do all level 3 missions while working on my term papers.

My setup is as follows:
Hi: 4x Heavy Pulse (MW, UV, Gamma), 2x Medium Pulse (UV), 1x Assault Launcher Mid: 1x Cap Charger (II), 1x 10mn AB II, 1x Webber Lows: 1x Med Armour Rep II, 2x Hardeners, 3x Cap Relays
As long as the hardeners are selected to defend against the damage types coming in, this can handle most any L3 mission I've used it for. I remember having one mission I had to warp out and return to, including lots of Merc Wingmen, but I think it was quite exceptional. -------------

Mine:
High 6x Heavy Modulated Pulse Lasers.
Medium 1x 10mn After Burner II, 1x Capacitor Recharger II, 1x Fleeting Webber.
Low 1x Medium Repairer II, 1x Active Explosive Hardener, 1x Active Kinetic Hardener, 1x Active Thermal Hardener, 2x Heat Sink II's.
I also have an Arbalest Assault Launcher fitted, but its offline until I get my fitting skills higher. I keep it on the ship so that I don't refine it by accident.

Do you find that that setup empties our your capacitor fairly quickly?

Kinda, haven't had real trouble with it running out for level 3 missions in a while. Have 4 in both cap skills. 4 in BC and 4 in Controlled Bursts, and 4's with the AfterBurner skills so that module doesn't take as much cap is it used to.
Also remember, you don't have to use MultiFreq's and Radios on those Heavy Pulses. Standards for example are a nice mix and they take very little cap. Other crystals that are closer to the middle are pretty good too. That being said I usually use MultiFreq's on mine.

AB and double web in the medium slots. Will catch any frig or drone even the spider drones and hold it still long enoyugh for your guns to hammer it to pieces. I don't even use drones anymore on a level 3 mission.

imo, i don't like mixed range fight much. it is not very efficient. i'd rather pour all my fire power at once and keep as far as possible from the rats. that makes me a sniper fan, i guess. 5 medium drones, rocket laucher, and webber r good enuf for close range frigs. ------------------ Road Runner |

Edited by: O''Sirius on 06/11/2005 20:06:05 Since I use a short range set-up, I normally use 1 set of MutiFrequencys on missions where there's lots of short-range rats. UltraViolets otherwise. The last set I keep is Radios just in case I need to gun down something 20km+ away.

Never launch without a set of 10k+ crystals for webbers. Ideally, a set of 20ks too to pick off long-range scramblers.

When you say medium, they are the small guns right? for frigs? where you meant to say heavy? or wouldnt it fit?
Thanks.

Couple of reasons for the small pulse:
1. It's the largest 5th pulse that I could fit. I do not think that it is possible to fit another heavy pulse into this setup.
2. Changing around the lense of the small pulse can make it's target range almost equal that of the large with multi.
3. Sniping takes time. I can shot the npcs while flying towards them, meet them halfway, vaporize all of them, and then only be ~5km from every loot can. It cuts into the time required to loot by a large percent.
4. A very limited number of NPCs are annoying to hit with heavy pulse weapons. The small helps my drones get rid of these pest quite quickly.
To put it simply, the prophecy does not have to snipe. I have done spy stash, blackmarket hub, ect.. without having to warp out.
Be a man damnit !
