If you beleive TTI has that great stuff... they most definately will 'use' it... why dont people (lots and lots and lots) of people decalre war on them. (they arent useing cheated weapons, only miners) and well, KILL THEM ALL! TAKE their cheated miners for yourself!
Two good things come of this.
1. You kill the cheaters.
2. You get their cheated equip!
GREAT IDEA! GO DECLARE WAR NOW!

well i now believe the entire story to be rott
but if it turns out to be true, i think 5000 alts all heading in the same diretcion even in noobships should be sufficent to lagg TTi off and kill their ships for significant time to disrupt their exploiting ways

They don't have the miners, the only way they could have those miners is if they were given biased help by the moderators.
I think they just tried to write a story and that is all, anyone who believes they have the miners are kidding themselves.

I don't think you can consider that 'exploit'; more to the point, if the full RP version of the story is based on true facts, it mentions specifically which of the Devs the item came from... *shrugs*

I think the easiest way to find answers to those "why's" will be to log onto irc.stratos.net -- some CSM people are to be available there today, at #eve-i.com.... you might want to ask t0rfifrans to make some official comment on these issues or whatnot. o.o

it would at this stage be quite useful for someone in CCp to post on this matter, if tech lvl5 is a 'prize' for being the biggets corp, then WP, and i shall quit the game.... my stuff will go to my corp before anyone asks.
If its part of the storyline, then without any remote sign of a roadmap, which some DEV we are continually told has been working very hard on (OMFG these people are paid not to produce?!?!) then I'll probbaly quit too.
If its a simple bug.. and TTi didn't report it, as we are all continually suggested to do... then thast very bold... the devs can fix it, and there won't be any problems - cept TTi are well down in my estimation.
If the DEVs chose TTi to RP one of the biggest game advances for them, and didn't even bother to take part of dev blog report it, then this games production is significantly worse than expected.
If it was intended to repalce basic miners with tech lvl5 miners, then n1.... can't wait to find mine in my corp hangars.... they don't appera to have arrived quite yet thou.

I'm not too fussed about what the CSM's say about it....I think TTI's roleplay was ill-advised.
Like I've stated previously, a lot of people have serious doubts about the integrity of some of the people moderating the game AND TTI's rise to financial power so early in the game.....lots of seeds of doubt there.
Call it jealousy if you like.

Im sorry but im going to agree with halo on this one, its totally ridiculous(If they are telling the truth and if they are I dont want to know that they have them, I want to know HOW they got them) that the biggest corp in the game should be given such a huge advantage over everyone else is terrible, regardless of the reasoning behind it. I dont care if you say im jealous, I have a bloody right to be if this is the case, im new, I have little hope of catching TTI already, but there should be a chance, if they have tech 5 lasers already then every new player is buggered and that means the game is done for.
In any case, how is it POSSIBLE to have tech 5 when they dont even have tech 2 in large quantities?

So, as a corporation we should of turned down a amazingly high end artifact because... your morals don't sync with ours. Oh and of course you would of done the same.
Seriously guys, if your that upset get a petition full of names threatening to cancel your accounts and e-mail it to the dev's. Sure we'll lose a few players, but look on the bright side, their all morons.

... Just a question if you don't mind, is it actually single piece of this dumb laser, or whole bunch of these? It gets confusing because different posts seem to suggest different things, and well, it makes quite a difference...

No you should be denied AN amazingly high end artifact because it totally unbalances the game, if you had been given access to a tech 2 mining laser through an RPed, authorised event I dont think you would see many complaints at all, but tech 5 this early in the game is bloody rediculous, afaik there is not even one single tech 2 laser in the game(correct me if im wrong, but it dosent make my point less relavent) and yet you claim to have tech 5 lasers, if you think people will stand for this you are wrong, this will destroy any chance of new players getting anywhere, it will eliminate all compitition on the markets because nobody but you and your little buddies will be able to produce ships cheaply enough. Pann really needs to comment on this, I mean seriously this cannot be part of CCPs game plan, not if they want to have enough players to keep the server running.

I'd like to comment on the accusations that TTI has "cheated" and "exploited".
An individual in the game contacted a TTI member and stated a Jovian had given this item to him. He wished to trade this item for another object in the game produced by TTI.
As TTI is probably the wealthiest company in the game it is only logical that someone wanting cash or materials would contact us for a trade knowing we have the resources to conduct such a trade.
The person reported a Jovian had talked to him in game, gaining "information" about his mining activities (right in line with the role-playing nature of Jovians seeking information). The person then docked at a station.
The Jovian messaged him that he had left something outside and to undock immediately. The person did this and found the Jovian was gone but a cargo container was outside with this mining laser in it.
The person then contacted TTI about selling it. I can tell you the price of a battleship pales in comparison to what an item like this is worth.
TTI negotiated and subsequently purchased the item from the member. After running tests to verify its authenticity (indeed I was skeptical about it and warned it might be a photoshop trick when WE we're sent emails about it) the Venal Alliance posted a statement.
CCP has contacted our member and asked for the name of this other "player" (who first contacted us) which was provided to them (of course). We are committed to playing fair and NOT exploiting or cheating. The name of the Jovian was also provided although we personally have no information as to whether or not this is a GM or CCP member.
Transaction logs will show the course of events. It is our firm belief we operated ENTIRELY within the game mechanics of capitalism and free trade in purchasing this item at a very substantial cost. TTI has invested a great deal of cash and resources as part of this deal and has done so ENTIRELY within the game mechanics. As we only have the original persons statement as to how the miner was obtained we can not verify the truthfulness of his claim.
That being said though the "in game role-playing" persona of the Jovians indicates a being who is obsessed with the accumulation of knowledge above all else. This would fit entirely into the story told to us by the finder of this mining laser. The Jovian asked him about mining, what he was doing, and other basic information. This is entirely in character (as far as I'm concerned) as to my impression of a Jovian contact situation.
That being said we will see what CCP says. They have the logs of this event and know we have not exploited or cheated to obtain this device. The device is factual and is not a photoshop trick nor is it a "fraud". We invite CCP to post a reply here regarding the logs and to issue a statement indicating TTI has obtained this device ENTIRELY within the mechanics of this game using NO exploits or cheats.
On a personal note I'm very offended that given our history of exposing cheaters and exploiters (we are very outspoken about it) people would accuse us of using these tactics. Rest assured ANYONE discovered by TTI using these methods will be booted from this company. There is no "second chance" here in regards to exploits and cheats.
