o/
I'm not here to complain about getting motion sickness or anything like that and personally i like the fact CCP took time and effort to give such a old part of EVE a good fresh new look and i like it.
But while trying the new effects on the SISI server using my standard settings for graphics as i do on tranquility it was beautifully smooth and no lag.
Yet playing on tranquility using exactly the same settings and setup using only 1 account i get lag and a fps drop from 80-90fps down to 7-14.
Not Sure if this is a AMD issue or if its a issue with the new jump animation itself i just find it strange how on SISI its nice and smooth yet on Tranquility its kinda laggy and stops and starts.
System Specs :
- ASUS 2GB O/C 7770 1.2GHz edition (Factory Overclock running latest drivers)
- AMD 1160T 6 Core 4.15GHz (Stable Overclock)
- 8GB Corsair Vengeance 1866Mhz Ram
- 850w PSU so its not a power issue
- 2 Monitors but i can play BF3 dual monitors with no issues
- Hard drives are not full and My EVE foldes are installed in SSD's
I checked resource monitors and EVGA precision and my GPU , CPU and RAM are not coming under massive stress issues while jumping either.
Just a reminder i am not here to moan or complain about CCP as this new build is perfect so far and this is just a small little setback but we expect things like this with such a big update.
Thanks and good work CCP

I've noticed similar lag & 2 pronounced jerks in the animations.
I thought it was just where various loading bars would be placed in the old system. It usually happens in the exact same spot(s) each warp which makes me think it isn't my system but server syncing.

Yeah thats what i thought , i assume because SISI is under less stress than TQ the loading times are alot less .. i just know that sometimes CCP does not like people with AMD cards |

I have painful lags while jumping now too, and I have even GeForce card. The FPS drop ruins the whole effect. Before Odyssey I was running smooth with same settings.
Though I think it's more problem with "loading" the new system than anything else, too much stuff is poof away and all new stuff is suddenly loading or something. The transition is not smooth at all on some machines. Few players reporting this as well.

Just another note using 1 , 2 or 3 accounts and jumping does not change the FPS which always sits at 7 yet i can multibox PVE and not suffer any issues. |

Josshhh wrote:i feel its not a issue of "GET A BETTER PC" like some meat heads have been saying in the forums.. glad to see that im not alone but not glad that other people have the effect of it ruined I am encountering the same issues in the jump animations as other are describing here. I have also experienced my EVE client shutting down entirely at the end of a gate jump post-Odyssey about 10-15% of the time. Quite the bummer.
I play exclusively on a not-so-special laptop and wholly expect CCP to keep graphics requirements in check or allow us to dumb-down the jump animation as we can with the rest of the in-game graphics. It would be a shame if CCP increases the graphics demands to such a degree that I cannot play without investing in new hardware. Seems completely unnecessary to do so in a game that is already aesthetically great and playable.
Cheers. |

I know they have some sort of thing with EVGA and if its related or not related EVE plays alot better and smoother on Nvidia Cards than AMD , and as you can see by the thread no one has posted with similar problems who has a Nvidia card so who knows |

Would be nice to know if CCP is aware of current issues with AMD cards and more what is causing this gate jump animation lag? All be it not hardware related or is hardware related it would be nice to be know that CCP is aware of such problems. |

+1
But I dont think it's limited to AMD cards. I get about two pauses in the jump animation almost every time.

Another thing. More about aesthetics. You get to see the next system through the jump animation a little too soon. Kind of spoils the illusion of travelling. |

Oddly enough, looking at your descriptions, my HD5870 isn't having the same issue. Jump animation is quite smooth, game stays steady at 60 FPS. Running Catalyst 13.4 |

Considering a Nvidia card has the same issue i have a feeling its dependent on the servers load amount.
Although I'm not going to say that's definitely the issue i am just guessing more than anything. |

AMD Radeon HD 6670. I submitted a bug report about it yesterday. Anyone else ever have this happen? Maturity, one discovers, has everything to do with the acceptance of not knowing. http://www.di.fm/spacemusic |

Not had that issue but i have had issues when in warp or gate jump where my screen goes a skin colour.. also undocking often just gives me a black screen with just my overview and HUD making me redock and undock to fix this..
Would be nice for some CCP intervention on the large amount of graphics issues. |

New patch did nothing. actually made it worse.
My screen now freezes mid jump and then i just appear.
Can we see any kind of improvement CCP? |

For the case that the whole thing is not card related: I would be interested to see full logs (from logserver) of such a jump. Attach them to a bugreport and include my name in the title somewhere.
Also things of interest: Are you jumping with many open windows? Windows with a lot of content like assets, bookmarks, market are for example interesting - is there any change if you jump without this windows being open? Do you have an auto-pilot route enabled? Do you notice heavy disk activity? CCP Habakuk | EVE Quality Assurance | Team Gridlock | Team Five 0 Bug reporting | Mass Testing |

Yes! I've seen that one. It happened once or twice and then the next jumps went back to normal (though not sure what normal is anymore).

Could someone explain the steps of getting a log server from the program to a bug report?

I am experiencing all of the above on my machine. MSI 7850 2GB running CCC 13.4. AMD Athlon II X2 2.8 (old, I know), 12 GB RAM. Sometimes objects in space will randomly disappear, textures are strange looking, extreme lag during any kind of skirmish or fight. You name it, I've got it Sad part is this machine runs Tomb Raider on ultimate plus 2x AA at 35 avg. fps. Also runs older Nvidia optimized games such as Bioshock 1 and 2 without problems. Runs World of tanks on max settings at about 40avg fps.
GPU temp is about 45 degrees, CPU isn't even maxing out, yet it lags worse than my old GTS 250 did when it was overheating. Renders the game almost impossible to deal with when it does it. I have filed bug reports, and support tickets about these things too.
Things tried: Re installed fresh AMD drivers Re installed fresh EVE client Ran windows memory tester, no issues found Ran 3d Mark for Dx9, Dx10, and Dx11, no issues except Dx11 final test got bottle necked from CPU Tweaking settings in CCC Tweaking EVE client settings Tweaking settings using Radeon Pro Updated chipset drivers (again) Repaired Frameworks 3.5 and 4.0 Re installed Direct X redist twice Re installed Microsoft Visual c++ 2005, 2008, and 2010
Nothing has made any difference. Hopefully CCP sees these threads and/or all the bug reports and investigates into these issues, as this is very, very frusterating!!! |
