I feel like I may be the only one who has this happening, or possibly I'm losing my mind.
When I launch my 8 probes they appear listed as 1-8 in descending order but they dont stay that way. They keep reversing order every second, continuously.
It's not game breaking but it does make an already clunky interface into quite a headache when I'm trying to set up a 4x1au + 4x8au formation.
I filed a bug report and CCP say they cant recreate it. My corp mates don't know what I'm talking about but someone in help chat yesterday said they "just ignore it".
Can people please respond letting me know if they do or do not have the above happening to them? It would be most helpful.
Thanks

Got a bug report. As many times as I have tried to reproduce this, I just can't. But, we can put some preventive measure in place to stop this. Hopefully the fix will be in on Monday's client patch. Yep I have this problem, while trying to do exactly the same thing (4/4 probe setup). Just the re-addition of the column headers would sort this out. So many instances of breaking the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" mantra in this patch. |

I'm not convinced it was started with any button press on our part. However, we all installed the same patch but only a few of us seem to be seeing this behaviour.
Perhaps we can find something in common....
I live in WH space I use a Helios with T2 probe launcher I had sisters deep space probes loaded when odyssey was released which were converted into sisters core It happens for both configurations and for both probe types I use Window 7 64 Bit I have an dual ATI card using crossfire I have an i7 processor I play golf |

Yes. It's also the fastest ballgame in the world, with speeds of up to 332 km/h (206 mph). Admittedly it decelerates very fast though ;) . |

used to be if you sorted by 'time' (you know the column that shown how long the probes still have), you would get erratic things happening. idk how you would do that with the new interface, however. |

Happens to me when i am trying to select the whole group of probes and need to scroll up or down in the list, since that particular window is only big enough to show a couple probe in my default setup. |

Protip: Always make a video of a bug if they cant reproduce it but it can be shown.
The bug is clearly because its sorting on the Time/Age column rather than the Probe name column. Then depending on computers and magical number keeping, when the timers tick and the probe age column updates, deciding the age of probes gets funky due to precision issues. In this case since all probes were "launched" at the same time, they have the same age in seconds but theres probably milliseconds or more precision not being displayed.

tl;dr Lock the sort to Probe Name column, problem solved. |

Simple fix is as said to default ordering by Probe Name. |

In this case since all probes were "launched" at the same time, they have the same age in seconds but theres probably milliseconds or more precision not being displayed. It never appeared in the old scanner because probes could never be launched in the same second. So sorting on age worked fine. CCP Paradox wrote:Got a bug report. Thanks for the bug reports (by the way, this is a bug and not a petition Hulasikali Walla. Filing the right report really helps us) tl;dr Lock the sort to Probe Name column, problem solved. In fact if by default its already sorting by Probe Name, its possible the old client settings for the window carried over for sort by Age since the older UI had the column headers to sort. I have concluded that this man is talking way too much sense and therefore must be a witch.
CCP Paradox - Please try out the above suggestion which will hopefully make it into today's patch. I dont get back from work for another 7 hours so if anyone else can check before then and report back that would be great. |

Yes but first I'll start by cleanning the settings here --> C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility\settings
That should do the trick |

I know what your talking about kind of a pain to get them all selected when they keep moving! expand your list so you don't have to scroll for your probes, it was still doing it just not as fast when I opened the window all the way. |

The only real solution is that you let us sort the probes again by column! I usually want to sort by size and I see absolutely no good reason why this was removed. . |

Just hit the "Clear All Settings" button in the ESC menu. That might nuke the Age sort. Unforunately nobody ever put a "Clear all Window Settings" button, just position and color... |
