got this little idea>
what about making so, everyone can reset all their skills and get pure skillpoints,
ones in his eve life, and then he can use skillpoints to put in the skills he wants, so if he have made stupid mistakes when he were noob or he doest like ships he might have used lots of time to traine for. then he\ll have this one chance to make it all good. and same goes for atributes.
that will defenatly make game more atractive and less people will leave, as they can totaly change their character, and maybe get more fun out of the game.
what do you guys think_) ..sry no question mark, as something wrong with keyboard
p.s. I know I would love it, as I have made some huge mistakes and wasted lots of time in traning for something I hate...

I guess you would lose the money you spent on the skill book, but you can get the time back you spent training on it. Then again, you're losing money and time = money, and Money is the root of all evil.

Sorry.. bad bad bad idea. You could train a rank 1 in half the time you can do a rank to and they've both got the same skill points. Bad bad bad idea IMO.

Technically rank 2 skills have twice the SP of rank one so that wouldn't be a problem
Still a dumb idea though, since when can you decide to reshuffle your psyche on demand? --------------------------------------------------------------------- Everyone should read the EVE Tracking Guide. |

Edited by: Lygos on 13/11/2005 15:56:33 I like the idea of a two tier skill system.
Each of your attributes generates a certain amount of sp in that category each day. This is not modifiable except by increasing your attributes.
When you wish, you simply spend them on the desired skill. Half points for the secondary of course, same as always.
The advantage I see in this is that CCP can then give the player the option of stretching out sp gain periods. He can select between 4hour, 6hour, 8hour, 12 hour or 24 hour periods, thereby freeing the server from constantly processing individual threads on these.
Nobody ever has to worry about not being able to log in to check their skills again. The downside is that concentrated study in single fields becomes slower unless aggregate skill time are become multiplied by (.3334).
This would necessitate a resettlement of everyone's current player's points into their general pool. With the multiplier in effect, they should be able to return their stats to pretty close to their current arrangement.
The downside of this would be realism of course. I can live without imagining my avatar as having it's nose in a book for 9 days however.
[Edit Add] It may be necessary that every skill takes a little from all categories in order to retain specialization.
