Feature request: when T3 subsystems are added or imported to a fit, force them into the correct order.
The problem is when you try to use an exported HTML fit inside Eve. If the subsystems are not in the correct order, they won't be fitted onto your hull (even more annoyingly, any ones that are fit will be removed). Apparently Eve sees them as unique slots, so it won't try to put an engineering sub into the defensive sub slot. The correct order is, top to bottom: Electronics Defensive Engineering Offensive Propulsion Now recruiting: http://dogfacedesign.com/index.php/Recruiting-Posters/recruiting-poster-patr3 |

That... is totally news to me. I wouldn't think the HTML export would do something like this, as it's based on the DNA format which doesn't even differentiate slots, just item IDs. I'll look into it tho =) |

Sorry, I have to be more precise. What I want is to see the summarized yield per minute (miner and drones), like EFT can show it. In the current version I only see the yield of each miner or mining drone and I have to summarize it myself.

Possible bug, or maybe I'm just an idiot:
My cookie cutter Taranis fit is now showing that it uses 192.5/187.5 CPU when in fact it's only using 184. I've set the fitting tool to my character API and the standard all 5s character and it's the same fitting issue. Using latest version as of this post, and my clone is clean.
The fit:

If you mean to export to XML, go to file > Export Fitting, which will export the currently opened fit Imagine such situation: you've already exported your 200 fits to html, opened one of them in eve in the browser, saw that some module is missing and want to update this single fit in html. Would be nice to do it just with a mouse click on the fit in pyfa and to press "refresh" in the ingame browser. p.s. Texty wrote:The "Export HTML" function doesn't seem to work for me. It just keeps on "Processing" for hours and while doing so it won't accept any user input so I have to kill the "pyfa.exe" process to be able to anything else with it. Any idea on the cause or possible solution? I think that's because it rechecks the whole html file everytime you press "export html".
Window > Preferences > HTML Export > Enable automatic HTML export Set the export file with the "Set export destination" button.
IG, open the IG browser, go to: file:///C:\path\to\pyfa\export.html Bookmark it for future use.
Now, update your fit in Pyfa, refresh IGB. You're done ! |

Just wanted to say THANKS for this application. I didn't like the fact that EFT was closed source and also hated the shady file hosting services. I also use all three operating systems (well, mainly Windows and Linux)...so having the flexibility of Python is great.
Playing around with the tool right now and the UI is clean and simple. Very easy transition for an EFT (now former) user. My Python skills are weak, or I would love to help. I will at least make sure I report any defects I find. |

Not sure whether I'm being an idiot or not, but I think there's a problem with target painters and turret damage calculation in the graph. I was playing around with it and noticed something that looked funny, so I took an extreme situation: ship with 1 tracking computer (tracking scripted) + 1 target painter vs ship with 1 tracking computer (tracking scripted) and an empty slot, and the lines appear to be exactly the same even though the TP should add an extra multiplier in the chance-to-hit equation (it's in the same area as the tracking speed according to the turret damage wiki... so a 30% increase to tracking should be equivalent to a 30% increase in sig).
Please confirm that I'm dumb or something's actually wrong.
Thanks. |

Now pyfa is able to set a ship as booster fit How about adding a "target fit" that allows us to set this ship as a target in the graphs. This design makes the graph works better.
And also, I advise that the electronic warefare should have an impact on target in the graphs. For example that if we wanna compare two missile ships, their DPS will be different if one of them has a target painter. Or, if a frigate orbits a cruiser in 500m, the DPS of two cruisers also will be different if one has a web. However, pyfa can not display the difference in one graph. |

In EFT - ECM jams in the projected effects showed the % chance to jam on the target data - not so with PYFA or am I missing something?

No, you're not missing anything. It's something I want to achieve, but I'm still on hiatus due to burn out and RL issues that have just recently compounded, so free time is a bit stretched.
Feature progress for ECM will be reported here: https://github.com/DarkFenX/Pyfa/issues/114
Kadesh recommends pre-caclulated values, but I think we can get away with it being based on projected modules and ships, just need to figure out best way to do it. Also, I had no idea EFT did this. Interesting...
As for target painting in graphs and things, I haven't confirmed any of it, but there it is an issue being tracked here: https://github.com/DarkFenX/Pyfa/issues/137
The thing with that is that I have never touched the graphs, so it's a bit out of my league and until I get a chance to sit down and review how it works, I can't comment on it. =) |

1MN Microwarpdrive II [Empty Med slot]
Prototype Cloaking Device I [Empty High slot] [Empty High slot] [Empty High slot]
Small Low Friction Nozzle Joints I Small Low Friction Nozzle Joints I
This ship on my end is showing 549 m/s at all 5s and I am fairly sure that it should be 5490 Fitting the ship out with my skills shows 512 m/s (511.9 to be exact) I get 5118 m/s using the fit in game with MWD running.
UPDATE: After looking at a few other frigates and ships it seems the problem is isolated to the Claw itself because other ships dont have this same problem

Dear PyFa Team,
I started using PyFa recently, and have a potential tool addition that you may find helpful for your users. Back in 2009 I wrote a lot of math for the motion model in EVE (notes can be found at http://tinyurl.com/kttjr7y). In these notes I elaborated a vector differential equation model for ship motion in EVE that turned out to model ship motion accurately. The response from Destiny software team was quite positive on the accuracy and capability of this model. His response is linked here http://tinyurl.com/nb2nu27 (note that I used an alt in my correspondence with them at that time).
At the time of my writing, my goal was to develop and communicate a deep understanding of the physics model behind ship motion in EVE. I did not originally have an interest in writing tools or simulations to help the community because I feel understanding is an end unto itself. My recent interactions with EVE players at FanFest, however, has led me to believe that it would be quite helpful to use the orbit model to assist with fitting for kiting ships.
Like the DPS graph window, EFT could produce a graph showing the orbit velocity, orbit distance and angular velocity possible for the fitted ships as a function of the orbit command distance. The closed-form equations for this are included in the GÇÿOrbital MotionGÇÖ section (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1I3y922Akj6NkFCtfp8xfwLeUNgDn9xis83z23u19o4g/edit#heading=h.a4vj0zeth3oy). Please let me know if you have questions about the approach or the results.
I have created a github account, and installed some of the packages needed to run pyfa from source. Once I have mastered this, should I create a fork and try to add this capability myself? I have a variety of other tool additions that I would like to make, but I want to do something simple first. Thank you.
Warm Regards,
S. Santorine, Ph.D.

Ms. Blitzmann,
Thank you for your note. I am new to the git process, so I'm learning how to do that part. I think there are a lot of opportunities to apply some of the theory to improve a fitting tool. Sadly, I have limited time these days, so it will take me a while to get anything going. Thanks for making an open source tool so that the community can participate in improvements.
Regards,
S. Santorine

Dunno if this has been noted yet, I'm lazy so haven't looked.
When making fits with lasers and putting in faction/t2 crystals, it makes the (1000/4000) behind the crystal, which I assume means the estimated amount of rounds. However, when exporting it, it comes out as 1000 ammo charges (at least when exporting through browsers), so it comes out like this:
Quote:[Punisher, Cheap PVP]
Heat Sink II 400mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Damage Control II Adaptive Nano Plating II
Limited 1MN Afterburner I J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I
Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Conflagration S*1000 Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Conflagration S*1000 Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Conflagration S*1000 [Empty High slot]
Small Processor Overclocking Unit I Small Ancillary Current Router I Small Energy Metastasis Adjuster I Here I just copied as EFT and added the *1000. But when inspecting the fitting via IGB, it will show 3000 Conflagration S under Charges, as also said in the DNA

Hi, I noticed the passive shield regen in PYFA is different to that in EVE. PYFA typically says that the shield regen will be much larger, than what EVE says, even though its the same ship/fitting/skills :P
Is it because PYFA is showing the shield regen when my shield hit-points are at 33%? (33% is the area where shield regeneration is at its greatest, and for comparison 0% or 100% shield hitpoints is its weakest).
Thanks.
If I could suggest an improvement, is to add more info when the mouse is placed over an entity to give information for stuff like the above ^. Like for example: when you mouse over the Scan Res.: (scan resolution). Once upon a time the Golem had a Raven hull and it looked good. Then it transformed into a plataduck. The end. |
