Can I get some suggestions for a Caracal setup? I'll be 99% doing PvE missioning, so lets gear it towards that if you please.
Thanks in advance!!

For doing level 2's:
5x Assault Launcher Med Shield Booster, 2x Racial Hardener, Webber 2x Nanofiber
Cruisers walk level 2's, so just a simple tank+good dps+speed is needed.
For doing level 3's:
Get a Ferox. Dont bother trying to do it in a cruiser, it's hardly worth it.

speed is your friend when using the caracal, stay far awey and keep flying away from the rats and blast them to pices is the prefereble tactic

5x assault launcher (arbalest if possible) 10 MN sb II, large shield extender II, hardener, med shield booster 2x PDS or 1 PDS, 1 shield power relay
No problems with level 2 missions, level 3 missions with some skill and patience also doable. However I had to drop the level 3 Black Market Hub in 2nd stage, can't take the sentries :-) Maybe a plated setup will do. ------------------------------ Removed due to offensive content - Laqum

TOTALLY agree :) Ferox ROXOR for lvl 3s :D
heres my super tanking setup:
hi: 5 x heavy Launchers, named best (doesnt matter)
med: 2-3 50% Hardeners (3 for angels) 2 Large Shield Extender II 0-1 Shield Recharger I / 10MN Afterburner II
low: 2 x Shield Power Relays (named that use 0grid/0cpu) 2 x Power Diagnostic System II
dronebay: 4 med or 8 small
With this setup you tank like a BEAST! No lvl 3 is any problem if you are just a bit sure of what your doing, just turn on hardeners and start killing cruisers :)
Drones is for the dumb 25-30K frigs that web/scramble

My favorite Caracal setup (and i use this for a lot of L3 missions, just not the nasties like Silence and Blackmarket)
High: 5x Malkuth Heavy Launcher Mid: AB, Medium SB II, named Sensor Booster for long long lock range, cap recharger Low: 2x named Ballistic for more damage
Warp in, run your sensor booster and AB constantly, run from anything close, lock targets at ranges approaching 100km, fire at ranges over 70km. Keep at range 71km means hardly anything can even reach out and touch you on a level 3 mission.

4x Heavy launchers (named if ya want) 10mn MWD Sensor booster cap battery cap recharger [to lows whatever you want]
Used this to blast rats and other cruisers (maller, thorax). Stay out of range and rain hell from +70km And someone asks why they didnt just warp away (those players i mean). I must honestly answer: i dunno.

Sorry I'm a newbie, what is it that allows you to fire from 70km away? I dont understand most of the abbreviations here :(
BCU, PDS, AB, SB?

Edited by: Cade Morrigan on 15/11/2005 03:15:14 Sensor booster adds 50% or so to targeting range IIRC. The Caracal gets a bonus for the missile speed which in effect extends its range.
AB = Afterburner (speeed) PDU = Power Diagnostic (adds to shield regen and cap regen) BCU = Ballistic (adds damage) SB = Sensor Booster

Train missile skills which improve Missile Velocity and Missile Flight Time.
Without them you'll hit at 45km. At Lvl III, you should get around 60km Lvl V, you will get 70km+

on the caracal i perfer the standard 5x heavies (malkuth is best*) med t2 booster, 2 racial hardners and an amp pdus, nanos, bcu whatever you want /need.
i use malkuths simply because they use the least amount of cpu out of all the launchers. granted not as large cap/ fast RoF but allows more flexability with cpu.
with good skills lv 3 missions arent that bad. was able to solo the mordus strike legion ( pre and post nerf) solo with ease.
HOWEVER. if you want a real walk in the park for lv 3 missions, ferox all the way. null Cookware for sale. Non-stick Teflon.
