I have a question about ram use. I have a bp that uses 10% per run. so after 10 runs it kills the ram. Is it supposed to do this? Is there a way to set up continual production runs without destroying ram.
I've only been building 9 of these at a time and repairing the ram but this limits me to about 10 hours of production a day or less depending if downtime shuts off the last run before it finishes. I would like to use full 24 hour production if possible.
This doesn't seem right since gun bps use say 40% ram per run or so, something that doens't total 100% so the ram gets spit out and the factory takes a new one from the stack, therefore you don't use up ram.
Any input is appreciated.

it has changed.
Now if you'r damage 40%, the 3run will DESTROY the 1 RAM and damage another ram, so it's pretty balanced ... and create a market for this RAM

Edited by: Dark Shikari on 24/11/2005 16:27:42 Simon--are you sure? Thats not on TQ, is that an up and coming change I haven't heard about?
Unless CCP vastly increases the number of RAMs dropped by agents, the T2 market is going to collapse with that sort of change. - Proud member of the [23].

it was an old change, i think since the cold war edition, it was bertie (not sure) who have made a post (eve-search plz work) about this problem and a dev respond it's normal they disapear cause they have cumulative damage ...
sad i don't find the post to prove you that for now ... but i'm pretty sure about that

u can find RAM drop via the ministry of war agents in sadana - these drop quite often on the level 2 and 4 missions as bonuses i assume the other minstry of war agents also drop them a good solid source of all the RAM types they also drop the R.DB as well -

This is totally incorrect ...RAM gets damaged but not destroyed....

However, if you have something that does say 20% damage to a RAM, and you do 5 runs, it will be destroyed. - Proud member of the [23].

Edited by: Dyll on 26/11/2005 07:03:52 Yes that's the point. You can build things with 40% ram use all day and just repair 20 rams after a few days. With this 10% ram use you need to build 9 at a time or lose rams. I think this is a flaw in the manufacturing design where with some bps you need to absorb the ram cost to have full production. It's not just the price but hauling these things around is a pain. Can a dev please respond to this issue.

Agents drop loads of ram, theres just not a lot of people running courier missions... ------------------

It's not really an issue of finding ram its making it's use among different bps fair. ram repair is 3300 or so, ram cost is $55k so thats a fair jump in price just to enable full production. Other bpos can have full production until their stack of 100 ram is used then just repair and restart.

If you just repair your rams to 99% (or anywhere from 81-99% really) it wont destroy your ram's since the factory will use a new ram for the job. So just repair every ram manually. A bit tedious but it solves the problem and keeps those factories running.

That doesn't solve big outfit's production problems... Unless somebody gets hired to repair RAMs Your Heavy Neutron Blaster II perfectly strikes Serpentis Chief Sentinel, wrecking for 660.4 damage.

This will keep the RAM's from popping i think, so thats solved in my book. Of course repairing hundreds of rams one by one isnt much fun

Does ME research affect the RAM percentage used?
If so, research the BPO to bring the RAM requirements down by a fraction of a percent, then the problem goes away. |

lets say you have 5 runs set up, each run needs 10 ram, and they get damaged 90% each run.
if you have 10 ram the first run damages them 90% second run destroys them.
but if you have 50 ram, then the first run damages 10 of them 90% The second run damages 10 (100% ones ) 90% ...
so at the end of the 5 runs you have 50 ram that are all damaged 90%
so you only have to worry about them getting destoryed if you don't have enough fresh ones ...
