with the upcoming flag changes i would love to see a new hauler class ship designed specificaly for the ore thief, it would be a tech 2 hauler, would have the same offensive high slots as a frig, cruiser HP, normal resistances..but to keep balance would only be able to store 1-2 km3 of ore...this will allow us ore theives to continue with their proffesion while been able to defend ourselves from the inevitable miner attacks, at the same time it will not leave us over powered.

i considered this, but i would prefere to fight back..and as many people agree ore theft is a legitimate profesion why cant ore theives get their own class of ships?

this ship allready exists:
the exequror maybe:
it has 600m3 room with 50%, 900 m3, it has cruiser hp and pg and normal resistances and can even fit a plate+4X light neutron or just medium cruiser guns. if you are clever you even fit 2X racial jammer in the medslot a scrambler and ab.
dont forget it can fit 3X cargo extender

An iteron 5 is fine =D, can be versatile with speed and cargo capacity.
Just go next to can, make the ship warp to somewhere, watch your ship align and just as its about to warp transfer the ore.

wont be fine in the upcoming patch where the miners will be able to shoot you..and scramble you . atm i use a 3 nano fibre badger 2..but soon i will need to be able to haul enough ore and be able to defend myself..which is why a ship like this would be good.

If you wanna fite back then youll need some else in ur gang who can do that for ou whilst you grab the ore, you cant expect a ship that will just be able to do everything for ya, wheres the fun in that!
And as ur in an ore theiving corp in sure theres some to help u out. BTW how does ur ore theiving corp work? like dont u have millions of people just war declare u all the time?

how about working as a team?
player one flying some battle ready ship
player two flying a modded for cargo industrial
player one aproaches the can, takes some ore out and uses it to make it's own can, after which he just does a direct transfer from the target can to his own can.
player two comes allong a bit slower to pick it all up and haul it home while player one stands guard.
if the miner tries to take his ore back from player one's can, then player one can shoot at the miner.
if the miner tries to defend his can after player one took from it, then he'll have to kill that battle ready ship with his mining setup ship, while giving player one the chance to defend himself...
during all this, player two can take his time to empty that can becouse anyone who might be interested in shooting him just lost the can-flag advantage or is player one who's friendly...
oh... look there, the system suposed to stop ore theives just gave ore thieves beter chances to steal the ore, they just need to work with atleast 2 now...

As far as I understood, the miner's corp mates will also be allowed to attack you, and your corp mates should then be allowed to defend you (I think). If that's the case you can exentially start a short war by just staling someone's stuff from their can.
As for the thieves - use an Amarr Bessie or Sigil and tank your way through...

my gang mates will not be able to fire on them, only i(or the person who removed the ore from the can) will be able to after they fire on me. The corp is 5 days old, and i only started recruting this morning, the idea of starting it was simply that the one thing i hate about the people who follow my proffesion are the ones who hide in NPC corps and take no risk..this way people can at least try and get revenge through war decs.

again possible yes, but im all my chars i dont 100% of the time have some one to work with even in characters who are parts of large corps...so this will give me the combat capabilities of a frig and the functionality of a rubbish hauler..it will also add more fun not only for myself but for my victim.

no one will be able to defend me nor will i be able to fire until fired upon..this will stop the system been used to setup miners for griefers. yes the miners gang/corp mates can fire on me...but only i can return fire.

yeah i know about the badger 2 and 4 ecm..thats my current plan...but it would be nice to have some content aimed specificaly towards this proeffesion.
and ive tried plenty of online games they tend to be boring, which is why i got 3 accounts here, 1 empire caerbear, 1 0.0 pvp and one theif...comments such as try another game are hardly relevent or costructive.

From what I understand when you take the ore you are flagged, allowing the miner to shoot you, however you may not agg him back. So in short, ew, sb's etc are all out. Your best bet is a couple of stabs and tanking imo. |

afaik the second your fired upon you can return fire otherwise is a stupid change which now leaves solo 1.0-0.9 barge miners invunrable.

basicaly what im after is reuction in cargo size for a bit of combat ability..which would add to the fun of ore theft.

every cargo hold in the game is in m3..so therefore every hauler has that type of hold..there is no differnce between me sayng i want 1km3 - 2 km3 than there is to me saying i want 1000m3 - 2000m3 as km3 = 1000m3.and 1 cubic killomiter would not equal 1000m3 *1000m3 * 1000m3 it would equal 1000 m*1000 m*1000 m
