Over the last couple of days I have noticed that Eve has been creating phantom static sounds (yes I play Eve with sound). These aren't "normal" eve noises, just a white noise static that plays over other Eve sounds.
No it is not some other application. No it is not my speakers. If I mute Eve on the mixer then the noises stop. They also aren't constant, they start at random, and will last for a random amount of time, although if I close the game and reopen it then they will have stopped.
I'm not really sure what can be done to stop it happening since it seems to happen at random.

I have experienced that too.
I have found out it is in fact an Eve sound. It is the sound you get while moving through space when fully zoomed in. Usually it is barely noticeable but it accumulates over time (maybe one layer per jump) and in the end the level is so high it is unbearable.
Work-around: Log out and back in again.
It also helps not flying when zoomed in on your ship.

This could also be that Eve "hangs" on the sounds of the sites. When your ship scans, and you hover your mouse over one of the sites, u get some white noise. Is this the noise you're experiencing? |
