For the love of team play, can we please have warning messages up the wazoo?!
I was doing a mission just now with a friend of mine from another corporation. He was tanking, I was supporting with shield transferers. I targetted the sentry gun we were supposed to destroy (it was half dead) and enabled the target painter. When the target painter actually enabled, it started painting my friend - who was next in my line of targets.
I obviously lost my ship.
Now, before you get on your high horses and remind me to get the **** out of the NPC corporation (which I am in when writing this) or that there is already a warning about attacking people in secure space, remember this:
- the same warning is used for both high security and low security systems
- there is no way to disable the warning before going to low security or before actually engaging the target
- you can't prevent what I just did from happening, as targets keep changing place, sometimes even BEFORE you kill your current target
- the same thing can happen with your alliance members
- the same thing can happen with that new recruit who's still waiting for the role removal before actually joining your corp
Can we please have warnings for:
- attacking someone in high security systems
- attacking someone in the same gang with us
- attacking someone from the same alliance with us
- attacking someone in low security systems
And please give us the ability to set/reset these warnings in the ESC menu with CHECKBOXES, so we can disable/enable those we want after we have to erase our Settings folder for the 100th time. Also, please remove the stupid "Are you sure you want to attack someone in 0.0 systems? It may be seen as an offensive act and you may actually **** off someone!"
P.S. I say "for the love of team play" because this is the 3rd time something like this happens to me: once I control+clicked an NPC that was flying fast towards me and ended up clicking on my teammate (who was on overview for support); another time right after erasing my settings folder and attacking someone in low security, I undocked from the (high sec) station and accidentally enabled one of my weapons then answered the phone... some ******* targetted me - and because of the stupid "Autotarget back" option, I ended up attacking him.
