Just a quick question about the apoc and its tanking abilities. Does anyone know if it's possible to get it to run 3 Large Tech II reps indefinitely? Obviously I'm talking about with Battleship 5, cap and armour skills maxed out, 4 cap recharger II's in the mids and 3 cap power relays and 3 hardeners - and NO GUNS running or maybe 8 small beams.
I'm thinking uber tank with little or NO firepower at all.
Any feedback much appreciated.

You would really struggle, even with maxed out skills. If you don't plan on doing damage, you could try fitting 5 Heavy Nosferatus in the highslots to augment your capacitor.

Edited by: FraXy on 06/12/2005 10:52:52 3x Large t2 reps will need at repair system V 35.55 cap/sec each = 107 cap/sec + 4.5 cap/sec for 3 hardeners = in total about 112 cap/sec.
4x CR II + 3x CPR = 146 sec recharge at energy system operation 5.
With BS 4 and energy management 4 recharge at peak =
((6912/146)*2.3) = 109 cap/sec
With both at level 5 recharge at peak = ((7500/146)*2.3) = 118 cap/sec
So yes, it is absolutely doable.
Btw, with repair system 5 and 3x Large T2 reppers plus 3x t2 hardeners ur dps tank =
60 EM 64 Expl 66 Kin 71 Thm --------- 65 average resist and 213.33 HP/sec = 609dps sustainable tank.

3 armor reps, 3 hardeners and 3 cpr's = 9 Slots btw
But yeah as above poster said, it might be possible :)
But maybe 2 true sansha's cpr's and 4 faction 32-26% cap rechargers might do the trick.

Well, with RMR changes, you could consider repper drones. It's not that much, but getting 360 armor every 10 seconds with no cap drain would be something to consider.

Oh yeah, my bad.. didn`t consider the 7 slot..
7500/182 = 94 cap/sec at peak
So u will need 2x heavy nos to sustain that tank. ---------------------------------------- Honor and Serve, 'till u Betray and Die! I betrayed, I died and i joined RKK. |

The next question is can you do better with 2 large reppers and higher resists?

U can possibly do it better, but running 5x t2 hardeners aint exactly viable with the high cpu usage.
Could be possible though.
4x CR II 2x LAR II, Expl II, 2x Thm II, 2x Kin II
60 EM 64 Expl 80.5 Kin 83 Thm ----- 72 average resists
142 HP/sec at maxed skills = 507 DPS tank
With a -3% armor repair cycle; 146.7 HP7sec = 524 DPS tank
Conclusion, a 3x repper tank is stronger by about 100 DPS, but the most feasible tank is this one since u can get some cap to spare for guns which most ppl think is nice to have on their ships..
Btw, this tank requires 80 cap/sec to sustain tank only.

My thoughts exactly
I would say, 2 faction/t2 large armor reps, 1-2 1600mm plate(for a nice buffer), 2 faction 25% cpr's, 4 t2 or faction cap rechargers, 3-4 faction hardeners/Energized nano's, and proberbly 1-3 nosf's in high.

A faction tank is ofc stronger with 1120 reppers, but they are expensive and most ppl can`t affford them.
2x 1120 reppers with 5x t2 hardeners;
203 HP/sec and 727 DPS tank

Seeing as how you don't have 9 low slots, I'd say it's pretty much impossible

I bow to the gods..
3x reppers and 3x hardeners is 6 slots, a 7.th for CPR meaning 227 recharge;
7500/227 = 79 cap/sec
Enough to sustain a double-rep tank, so u will need 3x heavy named nos to sustain the 3x repper tank.
2x faction reppers and 5x t2/faction hardeners is ur best bet for a massive tank.

Thanks for the helpful replies, and yeah you're absolutely right, the apoc doesn't have 9 low slots - I was just getting carried away there . What I'm trying to do with the apoc, is assuming maxed out skills, is to set up the toughest most sustainable tank possible for missions/complexes. A bullet magnet if you will. So the task for the geeks among us is - what's the best tank you could fit on an apoc after RMR, discounting all damage output possibilities and assuming max skills - without spending a fortune on faction fittings - Tech 2 only please !
Thanks guys :)

I would say 2x L t2 reppers, 5x t2 hardeners and 4x CR II. Only thing that will run without support with cap transfers..

If you want a sustainable tank, the answer quite simply is:
4x Cap Recharger II
2x Large Armor Rep II 4x T2 Hardener CPR
Noble ZET100 implant
Large Armor Repair II energy use = 400/(15 * .75 * .97) = 36.655cap/s TII Hardener cap use = 30/20 = 1.5 cap/s Total cap use: 2 * 36.66 + 4 * 1.5 = 79.31cap/s
Apoc cap output max skills = (4800 * 1.25 *1.25) / (923.9 * .75 * .8^5) * 2.4 = 79.275cap/s
That'll run nonstop. You can't keep 2 large reps and 5 TII hardeners running continuously without faction gear.
