I have been thinking how to make game more attractive to other types of gamers...
Add FPP features to the game :)
What i mean is for start interactive inside of the ship. I know captain of the ship is in pod but maby on ship can be placed a robot that will work as captains body on deck. Thsi way u can walk around your ship, look through the windows, check out your drones and sit on command chair on main deck. This way u will see all your crew. Of course u will have the same vision of the battlefield as in normal camera mode ( i mean icons around) but believe it... what climate it would have to sit in your ship and directly issue commands and see results.
Imagine a battle where u can watch its progress from the ships' windows. :)
Also this could allow boarding of the ships. Each ship will have its team of marines onboard tat would be able to board enemy ship. This only under the condition that target ship hp are around 5% - near death. Boaeding means taking all modules and stuff in cargo hold. And taking hostages.

Players will be still given an option to stay with present style of game or to swichc to FPP. This should be done anytime.
Such boarding would soon lead to missions with marines where u muts raid stations, installations and steal something/rescue someone...
Imagine such a game... :D

Edited by: Gabby05 on 07/12/2005 16:58:59 Imagine an FPS mmorph where you could organise missions with other players to land on planets or moons float in space and capture, kill, solving puzzles, interigating aliens given options whether to go back to the mission to rescue a player that was left behind. Be awarded medals and make loads of cash from selling alien artifacts that you looted on the black market buying implants or mods to replace body parts to enchance your character, being funded and given better equipment by the Government by going to further distant solarsystems to kill and find out more of the alien race.
Check out other players stats kills/type of missions done/how many commanded, helping you pick your team of marines to go to battle with.
Never happen in eve, but still

i really love this entire idea, but im afraid that eve engine would not be able to handle that ------------------------------------------------ When you get to the end of your journey, everything that really matters is the journey itself. |

True... this is NOT going to happen. Although the idea is quite cool.

I agree, the idea would be very nice. Land in a station, and now you have UT2004/Doom3 like FPS action...
But, this would also expand EVE considerably even if they could. Just as we have all the modules and enhancements to ships and the field of focus each character strives for, now we'll have characters who are not ship based and striving to be elite special forces characters... snipers, marines, police, mercenaries... etc etc.
wow... the detail and technical requirements... but yes, that would be so cool. To carry FPS characters in your ship to board a Titan... while you play regular current EVE style gaming, they are aboard the Titan taking care of it's FPS characters... a deathmatch and whoever gains control of the ship keeps the ship... ouch!

Seriously, What is FPP ?
If you mean FPS then No. YEs the Eve World could be adapted to an FPS, But it would have to be a totally separate game, unrelated to EvE Online.
But it would be like comparing FireWarrior and Dawn of war, The same license yet separate games. Personally Sad though it is The only game I play is EvE online now. But I know that having FPS bits in it wouldn't attract anyone new to the game.
The question is though . ......... Did you mean FPS ?

It's a nice idea, but like said before I doubt it will happen.
Oh and could FPP mean: First Person Perspective?

ive meant only a small addition to eve. This will not affect the game. U will only be able to see everything from insdide your ship. It may be just your chair at command deck and u cant move. I remember a game named Battlecruiser 3000 A.D. where u could see the situation from that position.
It would make the game much more realistic.
The thing with marines and FPP missions was only my fantasy on how things may evolve from it in future :)

I would like ship windows to be actual windows. Reflect light at angles and perhaps being able to see the room inside a bit...
kinda like the fighters. You can see the pilot inside the window.
