Arthur Aihaken wrote:With all the other issue in EVE, THIS needs to be addressed? agreed there are way more urgent fix required elsewhere, but this doesn't deny us the right to discuss about it and hopefully brought this to CCP's attention
Me ofcourse wrote:ok... the problem i see, along with most of everyone in here, is this:
When a person is podded, the implants are destroyed regardless, now if the person wants to unplug the implants let him, its not like it's going to drop or not, like ship modules. so considering this an exploit is stupid, as there is no difference to what happens to the implants.
Just as much as everyone loves seeing a 6 bill ++ implant clone killmail, it makes no difference to the game, so it is not classified as an exploit or anything close to one.
now if CCP makes it to where we are able to harvest implants from corpse's, then this will be a different issue, until then... no
TL;DR No difference to what happens to the implants. QUIT YOUR BITCHING well, i would agree with you if the bounty amount was not based on the kill value (wich for the pod, is the implant value)
in such case, this could be an exploit to avoid the bounty to be paid, thus flawing the killer from it's earning, wich can be a problem for bounty hunters that CCP was encouraging by the new bounty system.
while it is OK to jettison a potentially valuable cargo (wich has no impact on the fight but the KM value, implants shall be treated like fitted modules, the impact the performances of one ship, thus they shall not be able to be removed inspace, only in station and in pos.
if one would unfitt & jettison all his faction gun right before getting destroyed, this would be called an exploit, so why not about the implants? |

How the hell do people have time to unplug implants and unfit modules and jettison them before getting popped, it baffles me.
and why would you give them modules for free instead of the chance of them popping in the explosion.
It doesn't seem like an exploit at all, if they want to unplug the implants to avoid them being in a mail, let them... There's always the chance they get away in the capsule and have just wasted their implants.

read again.
when you enter a system you have 30 seconds to unplug your implants before anyone can do anything to you.
even with 10 implants, it's 3* the time required to get rid of those.
and an experienced player knows in such case, if he has chances to save his pod or not, then sometimes, decide to just get ride of it's implants |

What.
This looks more like someone crying about killboard stats than actual game play, also- let's make life harder for Worm Hole players (because they don't repeatedly get the short end of the stick enough as is). Inappropriate signature removed. Navigator. |

well yeah i do see how the bounty payout will be affected, however that was a broken mechanic anyways, there is no real point of putting a bounty on someone except for the tears i mean so what a person has a 100 bill bounty, yaaa, its more of a bonus then anything else. |

Faction Warfare is one aspect of eve I have never played, but don't FW pilots earn loyalty points based on the value of the ships and pods they destroy from rival factions? That's another reason people shouldn't be allowed to mess with implants just to spite the one who's about to pod them. I have lots of ideas. -áThey're not always well thought through, but they are always well intentioned. -á |

Issues cause you can't get the shiny podmail?
Dunno about you, but I pod people so they don't reship and tear me a new hole (at least in w-space), it's the shipkills that count. If you desperately need to fix your isk-efficiency, sit in a smartbomb-BS on a lowsec gate... or just keep on mining. I only correct my own spelling. |

Might I suggest: Cannot plug or unplug implants in your pod in space? Gotta be in a ship to do it. That's a great point that I hadn't even considered. I don't know is the answer, but I would guess that it probably does affect bounty payout. Yes it does.
"Currently, bounties are only claimed on podding. We want to extend this to ship destruction as well. This means that if you destroy someoneGÇÖs ship and then pod him, you get bounty twice (the podding bounty is then based on the value of any implants the target has)."
from dev blog in 2012.
On the other hand who cares. plus this.

Not much of an exploit imo.

I am entitled to all of his loss on the KM (as a matter of fact, it is probably an exploit to even have a tank on the ship). I'm a modern gamer!!! gimme gimme gimme!! |

Exploit => violating the RoC/EULA (like the Autopilot-thingamadohoicky). Being a **** / thinking about Killboard-Efficiency => violating someones morality.
The idea of unplugging Implants in Space is awesome, reducing the Cost of Lossmails etc. and using a game mechanics for your own by purpose. On the matter of 'Fairness', and i say it with Mister Torgue's words: "WHO GIVES A F***ING SH*T." No srsly, its not World of Unicorncraft - its EVE. Scam's, Killing Noobs, HS-ganking and you're concerning about fairness? Whoa.. then why self destructing a ship before it got killed and thus, not generating a killmail, was considered an exploit back then? |

I disagreed with this at the time as well, Captains often scuttle their ships in fiction and in real life as a last ditch attempt at spitting in the eye of the enemy. Given that eve is 99% spiting in the eye and 1%cuddles I don't understand why this was changed either. Tiericide is tiers by another name. |
