The gallente fleet command bc has the following command bonuses...
Command Ships Skill Bonus: 10% reduction in CPU need of Drone Control Units and 3% bonus to effectiveness of Information Warfare Links per level
Now the information warfare links one is fine but the 10% reduction in cpu to drone control units require..
1 High slot 75 cpu 75,000 power
So how is the command bc going to use this bonus when it can't even fit one of the unit ?
When i first saw this bc i thought great a forward command ship to control the new fighters from a carrier, after all why else would a ship with only a drone bay of 50 getting a drone bonus. I think this must been forgotton about when they upped the power needed for the module. If it was intended to use these it needs a 99.9% reduction in power requirements in order to make it of any use.

either it¦s not changed yet, but I think it will never, it¦s a capital ship upgrade and should stay that in my oppinion, you can fit other drone modules, like damage, tracking, range and so on

The actual upgrade is to using 'drone control units' not the other ones that affect damage etc. At least thats what the description reads as there really isn't any need fot the a cpu reduction to using the others as the bc has more than enough cpu 4 using them.

We did a lot of combat testing with the drone control unit on the Eos and Dominix and decided the module was way overpowered. An Apoc running 2x large smartbomb II, triple hardened and running 2x Large Armor Reps II was only able to get one armor repair cycle off before the Dominix' drones killed it. The drones were in structure and would have died if I used 3x smartbombs but I don't expect pilots to do that and the Domi has more waves of drones anyway.
The Eos will get a different bonus.

And many people could have told you that by just looking at the stats.

Thx for the reply Hammer, would be nice if the Eos still got some drone kind of drone bonuses and maybe a bigger drone bay ?
Maybe 20% bonus to drone control range per lvl and drone bay to 150 ?
This gives it a drone range with max stills of 90km and can launch 5 heavies with one spare, or can outfit with more of the newer 'surport' drones or even while leading a big mining op have some harvester drones going.

Did you try using guns, or the apoc with drones, not smartbombs? Now that the number of targets has been reduced the incentive to use a SB is less. (10 is still less than most Dominix pilots could use before).
Will you consider coming up with some other drone module that is a high slot? I have been looking forward to finally being able to fly a a true drone setup with few or no guns but I have trouble seriously considering any setup with 6 empty high slots. |

Yes, please. Give us a high slot drone module that can at least be worthy enough to replace a nos.
No, the max control range one is not. It's hardly useful for anything beyond having a laugh on FFA - by turning your domi into a half-assed sniper (until the omnipresent tank-ganked Raven takes notice and blows you up without breaking a sweat).

Good Lord, not another useless max range bonus.
Anything but that. Only the longest ranged sentries would benefit from that. And only slightly, since you already can reach targets up to 60km just with skills.

Okay, so you think that increasing the number of drones controlled is too unbalancing, since I still think that a drone-focused ship setup should be possible and increased drone control range isn't really worth it, I should try to come up with something else that could be a high slot module for drone users.
Some suggestions:
Drone Bay Expander Drone Speed Booster Drone Warp Bubble Drone Shield Bubble
Drone Bay Expnader I realize that this might be difficult to balance because it would allow ships to use sizes and numbers of drones not previously possible, but it could also provide those who fly ships with small drone bays a reason to train Drones V other than "it is needed for Drone Interfacing." It would also help those who fly drone ships with what is one of my biggest fears, that is having my 'turrets' shot out of the sky and being basically toothless.
Drone Speed Booster One of the reasons increased drone control range isn't appealing is that drones are too slow to make a difference Increasing drone speed might make increasing drone range more useful.
Drone Warp Bubble After having your drones blown up, leaving them behind is probably the greatest limitation. Getting drones to return properly can be time consuming and (if the drone AI is in a bad mood) difficult. A module that allowed all drones within a certain radius of the controlling ship to warp with that ship or even simply be scooped at a greater range might be useful.
Drone Shield Bubble A high slot module that 'extends the shield bubble of the ship around nearby drones' thus transfering damage suffered by drones in that radius to the controlling ship. I'm not sure how you could 'justify' haivng a module that worked the same way for armor tankers but it would be nice.
