Allright dude. I am tired of dying now. Now I am getting aggrevated.
So here is what I am thinking. I think I need to focus on either missles or hybrids to start off with. I have sort of been training a little of this and a little of that. I think I keep losing because everyone else is flying with Tech 2 weapons and I am stuck with meta 3 or 4. Is there really that big of a difference between them?
Sorry I started rambling again.
As a new person who sucks, should I stick with missles or hybrids? I will be flying dessies and frigates I think for awhile...at least until I get a few damn kills under my belt.
It IS just me right? It isn't that I am flying Caldari boats is it? I kind of like amarr hulls, but I will never fly Minnitar or Galante. I refuse. Are Amarr boats better in any way?
TACTIC TACTIC TACTICS...I need tactics.
If I am flying a Condor with web, jammer, MWD and rocket launchers.....step by step what do I do to win? If I am flying a Condor with web, jammer, MWD and light missles....step by step what should I do to win? Merlin with blasters Merlin with rails.
should I avoid hybrids or missles alltogether?
I will have my vengence. I WILL HAVE MY VENGENCE. I got a kick ass corp and alliance...now I need to be a kick ass pilot fer the love of Pete. I am down to only 3 mill isk, so I need help and fast. I will be plexing for awhile, but since that is where a majority of my losses come from...that is where I need the most help. |

devote 4 days to training those weapons to tech 2 if you think it makes that much difference (it really doesnt if you know what you're doing).
Remember that one ship is NOT going to be good against everyone. A condor is excellent at taking on turret ships since they're commonly fit with a tracking disruptor.
General approach for a Light missile condor is to keep your range above 15km and below 28km, keep TD on target and don't let him get closer. DONT JUST HIT ORBIT 20KM ~ AND EXPECT TO WIN. You have to manually pilot in frigate pvp, if the other guy has a clue you will be slingshot and exploded before you figure out what happened.
Also if you havent done so already: train thermodynamics and learn how to use overheating. |

If I am flying a Condor with web, jammer, MWD and rocket launchers.....step by step what do I do to win?
1. Dump the MWD and put on an AB unless you're flying fleet tackle. 2. Most Condors are LML fit, so the key to winning with a rocket Condor is to convince some poor blaster boat that he's going to insta-pop you because he can tackle you at < 10km. 3. Tackle him back, OH the AB, keep him at >5km (this is where the AB + web comes in handy). Shoot da missiles. 4. Get the pod!
If I am flying a Condor with web, jammer, MWD and light missles....step by step what should I do to win?
1. Purchase some decent implants 2. Depending on where you are fighting, undock your OGB 3. Never start a fight within scram/web range. 4. Orbit at 15-18km 5. Press F1 6. Profit.
Merlin with blasters
1. Load Null 2. AB fit for solo 3. Try to control range and stay right on top of them.
Merlin with rails.
1. CN Antimatter 2. Kite them just inside scram range

That's what I wanted to hear. I wasn't sure if tech2 made that much of a difference. I didn't think it did, but i wasn't sure.
I am clearly doing something wrong though because I am not even putting up a good fight. "keep TD on target" --- I suck at abbreviations...what does that mean? How should I manually pilot the ship? Like I know HOW to fly manually, but I don't really know what my goal should be. thats why I try to use keep at range or orbit because I know I want to keep him at a certain distance. I use orbit because if I am using launchers, then if I am orbiting I SHOULD screw up his transversal numbers on me right? My rockets or missles don't really care about transversal whatever. like where should I be manally flying to? just back and forth....like approaching and running away or what? it's hard to explain what I am trying to ask.
And I just realized how important thermodynamics is after watching a few fights on youtube. the only problem is I am about broke lol. I need to run some plexes to make some money. But see THATS where I keep dying. I will be running a plex and someone who SHOULD be an equal fight ends up killing me before I even know what is going on. Luckily I haven't lost a pod yet...I am good at hauling ass in my pod for god's sake.
I think they might be doing that slingshot thing you are saying....what is that? How do you do it and how doyou defend against it? |

Ok let me explain slingshot to you:
Pilot A is keeping Pilot B at 20km range using the game interface.
Pilot B flies away from Pilot A
Pilot A follows attempting to keep 20km range
Pilot B immediately flies back in the direction of Pilot A
Because of momentum Pilot A keeps flying towards Pilot B
Pilot B gets into scram range and melts Pilot A.
This is why manual piloting is important because frigate pvp is so fast and very little room for error at the highest level.
TD= tracking disruption. Tracking disruptors are commonly fit on missile ships because: light missiles have great range for a small weapon platform, if you TD someone you can still hit them but they are most likely in deep falloff range if you are 20km away from them. TD does not affect missiles. |

" undock your OGB"
What does that mean?
" Load Null"
Aaaannnnnddd what does that mean lol.

Haven't spotted you online when I am.
I should be appearing in my/your alliance chat before next DT. The Church of Awesome will show you the dishonorable ways needed to succeed in our special 'SOLO FLEETS' *
Hopefully over the weekend you can come for a roam and we will try and answer some questions.
Yell at Sean and tell him to help you - If he refuses to log in and help, let me know and I will post the name of the game I caught him playing on Steam tonight in this thread.
The last 2 nights not in FW have been so fkn boring. CCP and their stupid join/leave timers.

Hello! I used to be in exactly the same situation when I started PVP on my previous toon. Everyone goes through the 'dead until broke' phase. The main thing to realize is that there are no 'good' and 'bad' ships in EVE, no 'good' and 'bad' weapon types, and no 'good' and 'bad' factions for PVP. Once you get your head out of that mindset, you can then concentrate on building YOUR OWN tactics an experience base. Again, I emphasize YOUR OWN tactics and experience. You can read the EVE forums for PVP advice, ship fittings, and tactics for specific firefights forever, but you're wasting your time if you try to take them into EVE and apply them to your own play style. I'm not going to offer you specific advice or tactics, I'm just going to point out the fact that CCP has just revisited nearly every sub-capital ship in the game and overhauled their stats over the past year, as well as rebalancing half of the weapons systems the previous year. They will do so again and again and again - until the game sinks and they abandon it forever. This is because in an MMO you have to keep tipping the balance in order to keep the balance. Train what you enjoy flying, or what you have the most SP in (your in Caldari FW, I believe? And you say you fly Caldari?). Hopping from one branch of weaponry to the other chasing the 'best' guns is a futile effort; 'best' doesn't exist in EVE. Pick you fights; one ship isn't going to win everything, even if the fight is 'fair' (I hate that word, you should too). Lastly, experience is key. Once the kills start coming in (and it may take a few months if you are new, and yes, you will likely go broke once or twice as we all do), they will keep coming.
Don't get aggravated; it's a great game despite what some of the haters would say. Have fun and keep tracking your progress; you'll start seeing an uptrend very soon! Peace. |

To fly manually you just have to double click the direction you want to fly in. Also learn angular velocity and transversal and how those values affect your damage. Be sure to enable those values into your overview. They can be found in your overview settings. |
