Originally by: Features Page Four new skills, three new Leadership modules, and two mining upgrade modules-one for ice, and the other for ore-are added with RMR, plus four new hardwiring implants and a leadership implant (Mindlink). Also added are named ice miners, strip miners, deep core miners, and mining upgrade modules.
Tech II Mining Barges are introduced, featuring stronger shields, increased natural resistances, and additional slots. Ship-specific bonuses will be added for ice mining, mercoxit mining, and strip mining. All such Elite Barges will be designed to survive in hostile environments.
Excluding the t2 barges, where are the other upgrades (mods and so on)? -----------------------------

1) modulated deep core strip miners (i.e. strip miners that can fit merc cystals) 2) implants 3) gang-assist mining modules
I think that's it

There is also a mining version of the damage mod for both ice miners and strip miners.. its a lowslot item and it decreases the cycle time of mining lasers and ice harvesters respectivly.
It also has a 900% increase in CPU penalty for fitted mining lasers, presumably meaning only barges fitted with strip miners can fit the module. Shame that but hey,.
Im not sure by how much the cycle time on strip's would come down too with one fitted, but hey.

900% is way off, probably a problem with how the attribute is displayed. It's not supposed to be restricted to mining barges. _______________ |

Edited by: Mnengli Noiliffe on 13/12/2005 16:00:36 If mining mods are lowslot, then maybe give t2 barges 1 or 2 more lowslots, or maybe make those mods midslot? Because won't Apoc and Mega be too close in mining yield to mining barges if they fit full rack of ore mining upgrades and cargo expanders?

After the third mod (arguably the fourth) they give practically no bonus.
The Apoc's extra low slots wont help them here.

i just proved one of my theory correct:
all new peoples who join EVE becomes carebare miners, that also include devs

I believe the implants were hotfixed in a few days ago - a friend just showed me a 5% to mining yield implant IGB link that's not on the market. He's been running cosmos missions. ---------------------------- T2 Destroyers: a proposal Requested Changes: An alphabet's worth |

That's my point - Apoc can fit 3 ore mods and 4 expanders, yet barge can only fit 2 mods, so the bonus Apoc receives will be larger than Barge's.

The particular mining implant is there since the introduction of COSMOS missions ... It's a one time only mission (like all COSMOS missions) and it gives you that implant

ah ok, that is good news, new players will benifit from this. Any idea what the penalty will be then and how much it reduces mining laser cycle time by?

I don't know how you do it, but on my mining apoc I need 3 CPU IIs to be able to fit those 8 MDCM IIs ... I have Electronics 5, and as far as I know the Weapons Upgrades does nothing for the CPU needs of the mining lasers ... and I need some expanders to avoid overfilling my hold every cycle ... timing those lasers is a pain ...
